Chapter 11: A Burning Ambition

          "Come on guys! We have to win this fight! For Ethereon! For our clan! And possibly for all of Terrabisk!!" Evelyn yelled out, rushing towards Husky.

          "Yeah! That's the perfect attitude Evelyn! You gotta give every fight your all! Fight like its your very last!!" Hinoko responded, taking a large leap into the air.

          "Pfft! You guys are too happy about this...But hell! Me too damnit!!" Toshitsugu added, running alongside Evelyn.

          Husky, unaware of who to strike first, began to hesitate as our heroes came at him. Taking the fist swing was Evelyn. She slid underneath the large male, extending her arms so that she could grab him by his ankles and cause him to lose his balance. Husky tripped, Evelyn's plan succeeding. She then looked towards Toshitsugu and nodded. Seeing her give the signal, Toshitsugu drove his right foot into Husky's gut. The impact of the kick caused Husky to lose breath and be sent flying upward.

          Meanwhile in the air, Hinoko shifted his body to where he was falling head-first towards the ground. Luckily for him, Husky was flying directly underneath him, causing the male to ram his into Husky's back. He used Husky as a cushion as the two crashed into the ground, a small crater being made. Toshitsugu and Evelyn looked into the crater, only to be startled by Hinoko jumping out of it.

          "Well. I don't know about you guys, but I think this fight is over." Toshitsugu said, giving a smug grin.

           Evelyn smiled looking at Hinoko, who was dusting himself off. Not noticing she was staring, Hinoko glanced at her and stared back with a smile. Evelyn then began blushing a hot pink as she turned her head away. Just then, the ground beneath their feet began to rumble. Following the sudden rumble, the ground began to rise, lifting Hinoko, Evelyn and Toshitsugu into the air.

          "W-what is this?!" Evelyn asked, falling to her hands and knees.

          "It seems that we underestimated how much strength Husky had left guys! Brace yourselves!!" Hinoko warned, clenching his fists.

          "You're telling me that fat blob is still trying to fight us?!" Toshitsugu yelled out angrily.

           The ground stopped rising, leaving our heroes standing atop of planks that were standing over 100ft in the air. Looking down, Evelyn began to tremble, as she was afraid of heights. It was silent, the three looked at each other, unsure of what to do.

           "So what now? Do we jump or something?" Toshitsugu asked, looking over at Evelyn.

          "I-I'm not sure...But whatever we do, we ARE NOT jumping." The girl stated a bit fearful.

          "Well we can't camp up here forev--"

          "DIE!"
          Cutting off Hinoko mid-sentence was the sight of a wrecking ball-sized rock flying towards Evelyn. Unable to help the girl without falling, Toshitsugu and Hinoko watched the rock smack into Evelyn's head. The impact breaking her neck and knocking her unconscious, causing her to fall from the plank. The two boys watched her fall before Hinoko jumped from his plank to try and catch the girl.

           Flying towards the ground from a hundred feet in the air, Hinoko finally grabbed Evelyn and turned his back towards the ground as he landed. He left a large crater from their fall as he lied there with Evelyn in his arms.

          "T-Toshitsugu!! Jump down!! JUMP DOWN!!" the male yelled. But as he looked up, Toshitsugu was already headed towards the ground, another wrecking ball-sized rock pushing him towards the ground as it crushed his back. Hinoko watched in disbelief as he struggled to stand. Once her finally stood, he placed Evelyn down, knowing she would be safe inside the crater, and walked out of the large hole in the ground. Awaiting the male was Husky, who stood with a cocky smile on his face.
