The dance project: YouTube boyband

Chapter 2

I looked along the line of girls and we all smiled at each other before the band walked in. The person who we guessed was James walked in first.

"Hi girls, I'm James, the choreographer, and these lads are the YouTube boyband," he said as five guys followed him in.

I quickly judged them all. They all looked very tall until I saw the last one who was a fair bit smaller.

One was blonde and very tall. He was quite pale but was extremely smiley.

Another was platinum blonde and a bit smaller but still very tall. He had a friendly smile as he walked in.

The next had black hair and a beard, he was wearing a beanie reading PB which I didn't understand.

The other had a brown hair and was almost the tallest but it was close between him and the first.

Finally the shortest one who I presumed would be my partner had messy brown hair. He was very small but a bit taller than me and very thin. He had brilliant blue eyes and a friendly smile.

"Lads do you want to introduce yourselves?" James asked.

"Hi my names Caspar Lee," the first one said waving.

"Hello I'm Marcus Butler, aka Marky Butt Butt!" He shouted. All the lads began whooping and laughing but only Niamh seemed to understand it. Maybe she was a fan?

"Hi guys, I'm Alfie Deyes!" He waved. I recognised his name but I wasn't sure.

"Hi everyone, I'm Jim Chapman!"

Finally the smallest one who I was clearly going to be paired with introduced himself. "Hi guys, I'm Joe Sugg, nice to meet you all." He smiled. He seemed nice so I didn't mind if I did get paired with him.

"Ok, let's all sit in a circle and get to know each other but first in going to pair you up, lads stand in height order."

"Pair up?" Caspar shouted.

"Yes Caspar," James laughed.

"Like dance partner?" Caspar asked.

"Yes," James replied.

"I'll go with Joe!" Caspar yelled. "Come one Joe!" He grabbed Joe and began waltzing around the floor with him.

Joe was crying tears of laughter as Caspar spun him around while the rest of us just watched laughing.

"No Caspar, now come on!" James continued laughing.

"I'm 100% willing to wear a dress and a wig if it means I can go with Joe!" Caspar said acting serious. We all knew he was only messing around though.

"No! Now come on, please stand in height order."

They all shuffled around into height. Joe immediately walked to the end of the line opposite me. While all the others were measuring themselves to each other.

I looked at Joe who pointed to me and then to himself. "Me and you are together I think," he mouthed, gesturing every word.

"I think so," I mouthed back. He returned it with a smile which did make me blush a little but I desperately tried to hide it by flexing one of my feet onto my toes trying to unlock my ankle. When it finally clicked I hear a little gasp come from across the room.

I looked at Joe who was cringing hard. "Ouch," he mouthed again. We were too far away to talk as we would have to shout so he kept mouthing words to me.

In reply I just shrugged. My bones locked all the time and I was used to them clicking as a dancer. It was nothing to me.

"Ok so, Caspar you can go with Gigi." James said. Caspar made his way over to Gigi and gave her a hug.

"Just so you know, I love Gigi Hadid, so I think I'm going to like you," Caspar laughed.

"And I like Caspar the friendly ghost!" Gigi returned and they both trailed off in their own conversation.

"Taylor and Jim, I think next." James said and Jim went over to greet Taylor. They also continued into their own conversation.

"Niamh and Marcus?" James said.

Marcus headed over to Niamh and gave her a hug. "Hi!" He greeted her.

"Hi," Niamh blushed. They however didn't have their own conversation and watched the rest of us get paired.

"Alfie and Seana?" They did as the others did and greeted each other exchanging hugs and conversation.

"Finally," James began.

"I really can't guess who I'm going to go with!" Joe laughed. "Please give me a hint James." I giggled at the way Joe was trying to be funny.

"Joe and Chloe." James sighed. I think he had given up with the boys already.

"Nice to meet you," Joe said as he hugged me.

"Nice to meet you too," I replied.

"Ok guys come and sit in a circle around me!" James shouted. We all gathered around him in a circle sat next to our partner. I had Joe on my right and Alfie on my left.

"Hi," Alfie said as I sat beside him.

"Hiya!" I smiled.

"Ok guys so we know names but we need to know a bit more about each other. I'll start. I'm James. I have a passion for dance choreography especially big incredible numbers which is what we are going to be creating now, we will go round to my right, and I want you all to say something about yourself."

Seana started. "I have a passion for dance but also a passion for art. I love finding ways to express myself so art and dance are the perfect ways for me to do so."

"I enjoy vlogging and spending time on the beach with my dog Nala and girlfriend Zoe." Seana's face dropped. I don't think she realised Alfie had a girlfriend. She looked then as though she felt a little awkward but desperately covered it up with a smile.

"I enjoy dance, it's basically my life. I wake up teach nursery dance, have my own dance lessons, go to sleep, then when I wake up do it all again." I said. That was all I really had to describe my life.

"I spend a lot of time visiting friends, vlogging, filming, editing and eating. And I'm single." Joe added. Then he glanced over at me but I pretended I didn't notice.

"I like pizza and dance," Gigi said. Short and to the point.

"Snap!" Caspar shouted and went for a high five.

"Dance?" Gigi questioned.

"When I've had a few!" Caspar laughed.

"I enjoy taking walks with Martha my dog and Tanya my wife. I also enjoy doing the occasional bit of art." Jim said. However this time when he said he was taken Taylor didn't look disappointed. She just carried on and began hers.

"I love dance especially when it's with my boyfriend, Liam." Taylor said.

"My passion is YouTube and I enjoy going to the gym, don't get fit by doing nothing!" Marcus laughed.

"I like dance," Niamh said shyly. She didn't seem so shy when the boys weren't here. But I didn't know why - maybe she was a fan?

"Ok so we all know a bit about each other, let's start the dance then."
