Chapter 20

My finger lingered over the send button. What if Conor was lying to me and just said it so I went back to the project?

What if he had read the signs wrong?

While I was stressing out and thinking my thumb accidentally  hit the send button. My heart began racing so fast I could barely breath. This was going to be so embarrassing.

I'd sent a message to joe confessing my feelings and every second that passed I wished I hadn't.

I'm sorry for being so moody, but we both made mistakes. I like you joe, a lot and I'm struggling without you. I love you.

Reading back over the words made me feel sick. I was just watching to see if joe was online.

I wouldn't know what my next steps would be anyway. Would I re-join the project or not? What if he said he didn't love me to? What did I do then?

After that there would be no way I could have returned to the project. I felt sick.

I noticed joe was online and my heart raced faster.

The three dots began moving telling me he was typing. Every second he was typing I held my breath. I was so scared.

Suddenly the messages flashed up and for a few moments my heart stopped.

I love you too. Pizza and Netflix at my place?

I smiled when I read it. In fact I couldn't stop smiling.  I leapt up off my bed and ran straight into Drews room.

"Drew can I ask you a favour?" I smiled

"Anything,"

"Can I have a lift over to Joes place?"

"Of course Chlo," he smiled. He picked up his car keys and began putting on some shoes while I chucked my toothbrush, moisturiser and clothes for the day after in a bag, just in case I stayed over.

We climbed into the car and immediately I text Joe.

On my way, see you in a min x

Almost immediately I felt my phone vibrate in my hand. He was a really quick typer.

I can't wait baby x

Instantly my heart jumped out of my chest. Oh my. He just called me baby. I died a little inside and felt my face flush red. Every second in I sat there I anticipated arriving at Joes house.

"Ok were here, are you staying over?" Drew asked.

"I think so, I'll probably see you tomorrow after rehearsal." I replied.

"Ok Chlo, have a nice time." Drew waved me off as he pulled away in his car.

I made my way up to Joes apartment with my bag hauled over my shoulder. I knocked on the door, heart racing and a huge smile on my face. I couldn't wait to see joe.

Caspar opened the door. "Hey Chlo, Joes downstairs in his room if you want to go down to him?" He smiled.

"Thanks casp," I made my way downstairs reaching Joes door. The same feelings filled up inside of me as had done thirty seconds ago at the other door.

I knocked twice and waited. "Come in Chlo," he shouted to me. I opened the door revealing Joe lay on his bed in nothing but his boxers. Oh my was it a sight.

"Hey Joe," I smiled as I made my way in, shutting the door behind me and heading to lie on the bed with him.

"Hey you," as I lay next to him instantly he put his arm around me and I couldn't help but smile. We rolled over to face each other and both of us were just smiling.

"You look nice," he spoke gently.

"Thank you, so do you." I replied.

"In my boxers?" He laughed.

"It's a nice sight," I winked at him. I was so close to his face, our noses were almost touching.

I had an overwhelming urge to kiss him but I didn't want to because I was too scared. I didn't want to be first. For a few moments we sat just smiling and staring each other in the face.

"Chlo?" He asked.

"Yeah,"

"If I do something right now you promise you won't freak?" He spoke. I was a little confused.

"I don't think so," I laughed.

He placed his hand on my cheek and gently pulled me towards him kissing me as he did so. I felt relieved because I wasn't the only one who wanted to do it but ecstatic at the same time.

The kiss continued, leading to more kisses and turning into a passionate make out session. It was amazing.

It was just what I wanted.
