Angelina plunged into a full on conversation about everything I missed on while she was having 'quality time' with Noah. She had previously told me through texts that they had a trip to Disney World but she promised she'd show me the pictures when she sees me again. So that's what we spent time doing, she showed me the pictures and I couldn't help but think about how adorable she looked with the minnie mouse ears.
My thoughts were interrupted when all the lights went off. The only source of illumination was from Angelina's phone and the lampposts reflecting on the café's glass windows."What's going on?" I asked looking around.
"Sixteen oh-five." Was all Angelina whispered as I saw Nick coming making his way over to our table holding a birthday cake.
"Ohh" I said laughing as realization washed over me. Sixteen oh-five, it's my birthday. That's why my mom left a missed call this morning.
Nick, Angelina, Lilly - whom I don't remember seeing because technically, that's not even her shift - and even some café regulars started chanting 'happy birthday'.
Nick ruffled my hair after he placed the birthday cake and said what sounded like a "Happy birthday lover boy!" and Lilly wished me a happy birthday too followed by a kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks guys, for remembering and all, I mean I myself had forgotten." I said chuckling.
"Well technically, it was Angelina who -" started Nick but he was interrupted by a shove in the ribs from Lilly.
"Well thanks anyway, it means a lot." I said smiling.
Lilly and Nick had left after some small talk and then it was only Angelina, the birthday cake and I.
"Make a wish!" She said enthusiastically.
"What if I don't have anything to wish for? What if I already have everything I've ever wanted?" I asked looking through her eyes.
"Then you wish it stays that way forever." She said getting closer.
So I did before blowing off the candle.
She got even closer as she glanced at my lips before she placed hers on mine.
And we were kissing and it was filled with happiness and passion, it refreshed me, my body, my soul. I wished this feeling was eternal."Happy eighteenth." She said as she pulled away. "Come on, I want to show you your birthday gift." She held her hand out for me.
"There's another birthday gift? The kiss was kind of enough." I said laughing.
"Well, you may consider the kiss as a part of your gift." She explained smirking. "Now come on! We'll be walking through memory lane, our memory lane."
We said our goodbyes to Nick and Lilly as we made our way out of the café.
Angelina stood far away from the door then she stopped as she held her phone far away, "Smile, we're taking a selfie!"
I kissed her on the cheek instead as she smiled to the camera and snapped a picture. She held the phone to my face to see the picture, "This, was the starting point," She said as I saw the café clearly behind us - which by the way is called 'The Café' as ironic as it sounds' - "This is where I first saw you, where everything started." She continued.
"Angelina I-I" I started but she interrupted me, "Shut up, not now!" She said laughing.
I shrugged, "okay then."
She took my hand as she lead the way.
"Where are we going?" I asked curiously.
"Again, shut up!"
