Waking up the next morning was no easy task for Jasmine. The light shining through the cracks of her windows prevented her from going back to the little sleep she had gotten that night. When she finally did open her eyes she realized that she had over 12 calls from Killian and seven messages.

That wasn't it, there were even more from Cage who had texted her, telling her that he had given her number (which he took from Killian's phone, when he wasn't desperately trying to contact her) and gave it to their mother.

Their mother. Which meant that she was directly related to Cage. But he never said anything about Killian, which at the moment was what she most dreaded. What if she and Killian were brother and sister? How would any of what happened be their fault? Jasmine didn't know and neither did Killian. How could he? No human being would agree to be in a sexual relationship with their sibling...right?

Or maybe he did... Maybe he knew all along. Maybe this was his plan, his sick twisted plan. But she knew Killian, she knew that he wasn't that guy. He wasn't vengeful or full of hate. He would never do something like that to her.

As Jasmine scrolled through the long messages coming from her boyfriend, her possible brother, her father, Hunter, and her mother, she realized that she didn't want to know anything from anyone. At the moment she just wanted to be left alone. But she knew that wasn't possible. They wanted to speak, they wanted her to hear them, especially Nevarra.

So she took a deep breath, she clicked on one of her texts and then typed in four words...

Lincoln park, one hour.

Then she pushed herself off her bed and hopped in the shower.

As soon as Jasmine was out of the shower, she contemplated dressing up. Then she remembered this was not a social call, she shouldn't care what her mother thought of her. This wasn't about her. It was about Jasmine. All she was going to do was get the answer she so desperately needed. As she looked in the mirror, Jasmine remembered what had happened when she came back home around one in the morning.

Her father was per usual waiting up. He gave her a small lecture that went something along the lines of:

"I know you're 18 now, but that doesn't mean you can disappear without a word and then not answer your phone. Then you show up this late? What's going on Jasmine? I get it you're an adult, but you've never done this before. You can't just...disappear on me like this." His voice had gone up two octaves, but he reached out and grabbed her tightly, hugging her against his chest only to then say "I love you so much... I'm so worried."

He kissed her cheek and then said he had to go to bed. Just as he was about to enter his room, she called out to him. He turned around, his eyes wide, the smile she was so used to seeing, growing up not absent on his face.

Jasmine swallowed loudly as he stared at her and then shook her head.

"I love you too daddy" she said and turned around to walk into a bedroom.

She wanted to tell her dad that Nevarra was back, but how could she be the bearer of bad news?

Truth was, Jasmine wasn't the only one that was abandoned, so being the one who told her father that the woman that left him two was now back, wasn't something Jasmine wanted to do.

So before her father left that morning, and asked what she was going to do, she lied. She found herself doing that a lot nowadays...lying to her dad. Every time something that was untrue, left your mouth, her stomach managed to do all sorts of flips and turns. Her throat tightening, the pit in her stomach growing.
