My Father's Boss

Chapter 7 Hope

Killian sat at the table on the far side of the empty restaurant, waiting for Renoldo to arrive

Would he bring her? Would she understand that he had called in the work dinner, so that he could see her again? Killian couldn't help but ask himself if she would even want to see him again?

All the questions, whirling around in his head, were only making him even more nervous and anxious than he had been previously, but the more time that passed, the more he convinced himself that she wouldn't show

Killian had reserved the whole restaurant, all for his employees and himself. That way, it would only be around 40 people in all

It was officially 7:00pm, the time that Killian had told everyone the show up. As if on que, he heard the door open and his heart stopped. His palms were sweaty and he tried to quickly fix his hair, pulling some of it behind his ear. remembering she had said that she liked his hair down. The tall man, fixed his suit, smoothing it of any and all wrinkles. He readjusted his dark tie and then pulled his arms around his back interlocking his fingers, to hide the fact that he was nervously picking away at his finger nails

Was it her? Was it the reason that Killian hadn't been able to sleep at night and the reason he currently took 3 cold showers a day? Was it Jasmine

But as quickly as his hope had risen, it instantly dropped. Instead of seeing the beautiful girl that had been haunting his dreams for the previous day's, he was greeted by an older woman, with wide blue eyes

Her name was Nikki Brown. She was a single 25 year old woman, with 2 kids and a bright pearly white smile on her face

She had long black curly hair and bright blue eyes,
Not quiet like Jasmine's, but still beautiful. If Killian wasn't mistaken, she was Irish. She had legs up to her neck and a beautiful figure that would make any man go crazy    

"Wow Mr. Daxx, this place it amazing" she said, not looking straight at the handsome man, standing in front of her, who was more than disappointed

When she did, her eyes widened even more and her mouth dropped slightly

"Are you alright?" Killian asked in the most polite way he could, dispite his disappointment

She didn't respond right away, she instead stood still and looked down at his lips

"Miss Brown?" He asked

Once again, she didn't answer

The sound of the door opening caught the attention of both Killian and Nikki, but once again, the person that Killian wanted to walk through the door, was not there

As time passed, more and more people arrived, until it seemed as though the whole restaurant was full

By then, people had already been seated, according to the name tags, placed on top of every polished white plate

Killian had made sure to have an empty seat next to his and Renoldo's seat next to the vacant one

If Jasmine were to come, he wanted to make sure that he had her as close to him as possible

10 more minutes passed and Killian had started losing hope. Maybe they weren't coming, maybe he had done all this for nothing....or maybe, she was going to show up at any moment

Killian took his seat, which was facing towards the front entrance. Nikki was seated to his right and the two empty chairs to the left of Killian still remained vacant

"Mr. Daxx, shall we start?" He heard one of the servers ask

Killian looked up at the young man, with bright blue eyes and short brown/black hair, and then at the door and then back at the young man and nodded
