Duchess's P.O.V.
I screamed as the flame came shooting through the air. Right. At. Me.
I stood there frozen with fear. Suddenly Sparrow runs over to me and hastily scoops me up. He darts off, me in his arms, right before the flame destroys the tree behind me. I would have been toast if Sparrow didn't save me.
I look up into Sparrows eyes. There's something there that I haven't noticed before.
"Uh... thanks," I stutter.
"Your welcome," Sparrow responds, oddly calm.
"No, really thanks. You saved my life." I blush a little. He's staring right at me. Okay, I blush more than a little.
"I think any man would be honored to save such a beautiful maiden, just like yourself's, life." He smiles at me.
My cheeks turn bright red, and I know Sparrow notices. Cue the awkward silence.
"Okay, then. Duchess, do you have whatever you found?" Chase asks, cutting through the quietness.
I turn my attention away from Sparrow to Chase. It's then I notice the dragon's gone. I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding. I open my hand, and revel a blue gem.
"Yes- it seemed special." I walk over to Chase and hand him the gem.
"It's the same colour as the light," Chase mumbles, "I think we've found it!"

As we start our journey back to Darling, I stay at the back of the group. My mind wanders as we walk. I look up at Ashlyn and Hunter. They casually hold hands as they stroll. They seem so happy.
"Hey Duchess." I blush as Sparrow joins me.
"Hi." I try to cover my pink cheeks. "What's up?"
Typical me for thinking of something so stupid to say to my crush.
I want him to hold my hand, to smile at me. I want to be his princess. I want to shout out: "I love you Sparrow!" And I want him to say that he doesn't love me like I love him... but even more. I turn back to look at him.
"Duchess? What do you think?" Sparrow asks.
Oh hex no- I did it! I daydreamed when he was talking to me! Major slip up!
"Um, I don't know." I try not to sound stupid, but I don't think I'm doing a good job.
"Oh." He seems sad. "Fairytale curse sounds good to me." He tucks some of his hair behind his ear.
Was he talking about movies in the theatre right now? Did he want to ask me to the movies? On a date?!
"That sounds great to me!" I blurt out dumbly. "I mean, I um... want to see that movie to." I try to hide my embarrassment.
Sparrow just nods.
Inside I mentally facepalm.
Robecca's P.O.V.
"Wo ho!" I'm spinning- er swimming around in circles.
"Great job Robecca! Your getting the hang of it!" Clawdeen gives me a thumbs up.
"Thanks!" I swim over to her. "What's next?"
"We have to help someone fix one of their flaws." Everyone swims over to Clawdeen.
"Oui! I have faced my flaw!" Rochelle excitedly says.
"And I to have faced my flaw." Jenifire swims over to us.
"Two down..." Frankie stops to look up, "and many more to go!" She giggles.
"So who wants to go next?" Clawdeen asks. No one moves a muscle. "Every one of us has a flaw and they'll have to be faced now or later." Clawdeen points to Frankie. "What's your flaw?"
"I sometimes lose a bolt and then I give people a shock. And a bad hair day." Frankie giggles.
"What your flaw Ghoulia?" Clawdeen asks.
"Ahhhh Ahhhhh ahhahia." Ghoulia says.
"See. Ghoulia's slow and has a hard time making decisions," Clawdeen says.
For the next while, Clawdeen picks people to admit their flaws. Eventually, she turns to me.
"I'm usually late and lose track of time," I admit.
Clawdeen then points to Cleo.
"Um... I guess I can be... a little little bit demanding sometimes," Cleo says.
Toralie goes next. "I don't have flaws."
Everyone glares at her.
"Fine. I guess I cause trouble- but it's fun." Everyone rolls their eyes at Toralie. "Fine. I am rude sometimes."
"No. All the time Toralie. And your the reason we're here!" Cleo shouts at her.
Toralie hisses at Cleo.
"Ghouls stop!" Frankie yelled. "We need to focus if we want to get home and find ours friends!"
"Frankie's right! We need to work together if we want to succeed," Jenifire adds.
Skelita nods. "For monster high!" She sticks her hand out.
Frankie, Ghoulia, Clawdeen, Jenifire, Rochelle, Caty, Venus, Deuce, Gigi, Abbey, and Sirena put their hands on top of Skelita's. I swim over and put mine on top. Everyone glares at Cleo and Toralie, who then smile at each other and swim over to join us.
"For monster high!"
