December 26th, 1999

As it was the last few days of the twentieth century, you and L had adventured out on your honeymoon. The two of you had decided on Japan, as you had never been there and wanted to explore the country. You were staying in a very expensive, private hotel. Mr. Wammy was with you guys, of course, but for protective reasons. Cameras were modified to turn off when you three entered an area together, as no one could have a record of the faces of L and his wife.

When you approached the hotel, Mr. Wammy informed you that he would be staying across the hall. You and L had the entire room to yourselves. It was the first time the two of you would share a room as a married couple. Excitement filled the two of you; even L showed it. You were ecstatic. You, ___ Lawliet, had married the man of your dreams. There was nothing else that could excite you more.

On the first night of your honeymoon, the two of you made sure your door was locked tight. You were also thankful that the only other person on the floor was Mr. Wammy.

The next few days were filled with fun and excitement. You, L, and Mr. Wammy traveled throughout Japan. Your first stop was in Ikebukuro, where L pointed out some recent gang activity. L told you that only two of the three gangs seemed to cause trouble, but he frankly didn't care what they did. As long as there weren't more than ten victims, or a million dollars at stake, L would let the gang roam free.

You and L went together to an amusement park. To your surprise, he put his arm around your shoulder. To his surprise, you kissed him on the cheek as a thank you. Spotting a cotton-candy machine, the both of you got a huge serving of the soft sugar. Licking it with delight, L turned to kiss you. While you were kissing, you felt something sticky and sweet in your mouth. Your husband had slipped some of his cotton-candy in your mouth! You kissed him more, then the two of you realized that you were in public. A little boy was staring at the two of you, "EWW!"

L chuckled, as you giggled. Both of you got up, walking towards the Ferris wheel. Looking at your ring, you smiled. "L, I'm so glad I married you."

He looked deeply into your eyes, "Me, as well. ___, you're the best thing that happened to me." Noticing the little boy was still watching the two of you, L kissed you on the forehead, instead of the lips.

Looking at the little boy, L commented, "See? We can show affection, and not be gross." The boy smiled, and ran off.

Riding the Ferris wheel was loads of fun. In actuality, the whole amusement park was fun. There were so many exquisite attractions, so much fun stuff to do. After the amusement park, you and L had a reservation at a fancy restaurant. L wore his tux from the wedding, while you wore your favourite colour dress.

The two of you weren't old enough to drink yet, so you had the virgin drinks instead. Dinner was excellent, for there were so many exquisite dishes you had never had before! There were many different dishes that were brought out, about six. By the end of the meal, (well, L only ate the sweet parts of the meal, leaving you to eat all of it), you were stuffed. L summoned Mr. Wammy, informing him that the delicious meal was over.

When Mr. Wammy arrived, you and L noticed a solemn look on his face. L was the first to ask, saying, "Wammy, what's wrong?"

"There is nothing wrong. Enjoy your honeymoon." He smiled to reassure the two of you.

You were still skeptical, however. Considering he told L there was nothing to worry about, which he always told L everything, you knew that there was something wrong. You decided not to question the older man, as you knew he would say the same to you. "L, is it time to go back?"
