May, 2002

It had been almost three years since you had married the century's greatest detective, L. Married life, (for the most part) had been the same as the time the two of you had always spent together. Watari informed the two of you that B had run away from the orphanage, most likely still conflicted with A's premature death. L was trying to find B, for he knew many secrets from Wammy's House. Knowing B, he would reveal those secrets in order to benefit himself over L.

Through all of the searching that you, L, Watari, Roger, Mello, and countless others had done, there was nothing to be found of the child known as B. L seemed very calm, monitoring an FBI agent by the name of Naomi Misora. You knew L could see your computer, as you could his, so you searched Naomi Misora in the database.

According to your research, she was a very talented agent. Naomi had a "remarkable investigative ability", and was a top rate agent. She was dating another FBI agent, Raye Penber, and it looked as though the two were the perfect match for the other.

"L, what are your means for monitoring this woman?" You glanced in his direction.

He poured his cup of tea into his mouth. "When the time comes, I'll need her to investigate B."

You pursed your lips. "He's dangerous. With her skill, she may be able to apprehend him."

"That's the plan..."

Sirens echoed in the distance. A body had been found recently.

Naomi Misora checked her computer, seeing a message from the century's greatest detective. After destroying her computer, she began to work.

L monitored her through his computer. You, unknown to his knowledge, had been following the woman. You wanted to check on her, and make sure she didn't end up being murdered. One mistake had been made on your part, however. Your cell phone buzzed in your pocket, an "L" was present on the flip phone. Knowing that the consequences would be severe if you didn't answer, you picked up the phone.

"Agent 2476, here." Using the code you had used to catch Aiber and Wedy, L knew it was you.

"You have lost a small speck of my trust. Why didn't you tell me you were going out on your own?" You could tell by the tone in L's voice that he was very irritated.

Looking around, making sure that no new people had appeared, you answered. "I want to protect Misora. Sure, she's a top agent, but what if B gets through her? What if he becomes a serial killer, and she becomes a victim?"

The silence on the other line showed you that L was considering your statement. "I want you home. Now."

You sighed as the line dropped, knowing L to be all too powerful. It was considerate of him to consider your safety, but you had been in a few situations like this before. You defended yourself in 1987, when the people who killed your parents impersonated Professor Margaret Thomason. You were only eight at the time, and you had a good amount of strength to weaken your attacker. Now, you were a full fledged adult, ready for action at any moment. Over the years, you had studied ways to overpower an opponent, and you were positive you could do so. Plus, you had seen B's face, and knew his personality well enough from studying him at Wammy's.

Looking for the parking garage where your car was located, it started to become very dark in the city of Los Angeles. Knowing L, he was monitoring you through traffic and business cameras. He would buzz your cellphone again, if there was an immediate danger.

As you walked, footsteps could be heard from behind you. A very tall, lean man was spotted in your peripheral vision. Your cell phone had not been buzzing, so perhaps this man was safe? Before you could check your situation, the man spoke behind you. "Miss, would you like someone to walk you to your destination? Los Angeles isn't safe at night." You could hear the smile in his words.
