G E N E ' S  P O V

"A little farther!" I yell at freshman Zane. Zane groans, then takes a few steps back. "Is this good?" He shouts, being around 100 feet away. The bell rings, "Now you gotta get to class! Can't hang out with us. Bummer." I state. Zane slumps his shoulders, looks at us, then somberly walks off to whatever class he has to go to. "Hah! Like we're going to class." Sasha laughs at her own joke. Zenix joins onto the laugh, me staying silent. Sasha and Zenix give me questioning looks, "Is everything alright, Gene?" Sasha asks. Zenix looks at my face, scanning it's features. I shaky my head softly, "Yea, yea, I'm fine." I pause and turn my head from my friends, "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine." I then walk off. I feel Sasha and Zenix's eyes burning holes into the back of my head. I ignore them and continue to walk into the school.

A  F E W  M I N U T E S  L A T E R . . .

Z A N E ' S  P O V

As I'm about to enter the classroom, I hear footsteps behind me. I immediately stop, my hand slowly shaking off the door. "Hello, one eye." The familiar voice of Gene rings into my ears. "Don't beat me up... Please!" I squeak, my voice higher than any threatening tone. Gene laughs, "Little Mouse," He pauses and pulls me closer. Gene grabs hold of my collar, "You're all mine." His smooth voice makes it into my ears. He then pushes me into a locker, our faces only inches apart. "What do you want?" I question, nervousness lacing with my voice. "You're going to be so hot when you're older." Gene then pulls down my mask and presses his lips against mine. My eyes are wide as saucers, but soon I melt into it. Gene and I pull back. He presses his forehead against mine. I can feel his breath on my lips, as he can feel mine on his. His breaths are smooth, where mine are shaky, "I can't wait to hear that sexy voice of yours someday." Gene plants a kiss on my forehead, then walks away. Where my freckles line, a blush is cascaded over them. I notice this and push my mask up. What just happened?

"Have fun?" Sasha asks as I make my way over to them. I wipe my mouth with my sleeve, still feeling Zane's minty, spearmint breath on my lips. "Very." I state. Sasha bites her lip, "You little Shadow Knight." She gushes. I sit down on a bleacher by them, "I know."
