Tex and Zora were currently going through the Sundill Forest; Zora's birthplace. Normally, humans weren't exactly allowed there. They still weren't. But thanks to a few negotiations and conversations, Zora managed to wiggle Tex into the forest unharmed.
They were on the outskirts of the nearest village, Tex easily towering over everyone. The tallest being there (other than Tex) was a short 5'2, Tex standing at a height of 6'1. The average height was from 4'9 to 4'12. Like I said, Tex would tower over everyone with ease.
"And we're almost here!" The silver haired elf chirped, a small watery shine guarding and circling like a barrier around some trees. That was the entryway to the village if you didn't know.
Tex nodded, yet to say anything other than a small, gruff 'Okay' or 'Yea'. Since Tex was from Texas (henceforth his name Tex), he had a thick Southern accent that followed him everywhere, haunting every word he said.
Eventually, they came just five feet away from the glimmering barrier, Tex stopped and letting a brief breath leave his mouth. This was a big moment for him. Him and Zora had been living together for about five to six months and now he was going to see where she originally lived before him.
It was undeniably nerve wracking for him. The other reasons to why were unknown to the elf at his side, "Ready?" She asks.
He nods, "Ready."
They step into the barrier, a water-like design falling over their vision with a cascade of beautifully colliding colors.
That faded as they stepped out of the portal, Tex stopping as he witnessed the small village that Zora pridefully called home. Little people were scattering around, most only to his waist or lower chest. It was amusing how much taller he was than everybody else, really.
A female elf with pointed ears and a bright smile was running their way, "My little Zo-Zo!" She proclaims, hugging her daughter.
"Mom..." Zora complained quietly at her mother's affectionate smothering. She stopped and stared up at the blonde blue eyed giant that most call Tex, "And who would this giant of a hunk be?"
"Did somebody say giant?" A pedestrian asks. Zora's mother, Honeysuckle looked back quickly, "No!" She exclaims. The spectator walks off.
Honeysuckle turns back around, "Tex..." He starts as an introduction. Before he can finish, his hand is already being shook roughly by a hand half the size of his, "Honeysuckle! Honeysuckle Daisy!" She introduces hardily, smiling brighter than before.
"You must be my Zo-Zo's boyfriend!" She exclaims. A small pink makes its way to Tex's face, "W-We're not--" He gets cut off, "Nonsense!" Honeysuckle interrupts, "You clearly are! That's what she said!"
Zora was now completely flushed with embarrassment, blushing darker than he was, "Really?" Tex questions in disbelief. Honeysuckle nods, "Mhm!" She hums in response.
Tex didn't know if he should be flattered or utterly disturbed. Flattered seemed to be the best option at the moment.
Honeysuckle seems as if she has something on the end of her tongue. She finally opens her mouth anxiously, "D'awww! Come on, you adorable couple!" She waddles along, leading the 'couple' to a certain destination.
Tex looked at the small (very small) hut that Honeysuckle lead them to. He was taller than it by at least a foot. Like I mentioned earlier, Tex is taller than everyone and everything by a landslide.
Honeysuckle notices this. She turns around and looks up at the friendly giant, "Are you going to fit?" She asks. The blonde boy shakes his head no, highly doubting it.
The mother sighs and looks back at the hut, "Maybe you could crawl." She suggests. Tex shrugs, "We'll see.." His accent made him seem uneducated, though that wasn't the case. He had the regular education of a twenty-two year old that's saving up for college.
This was the first time that Honeysuckle acknowledged his accent, her a bit taken aback. She wasn't expecting that, but let it slide off her shoulders. Honeysuckle still believed that they were dating, so she wasn't going to question her daughter's happiness or.. 'mate' as they'd call it in Sundill Forest.
Personally (to Tex), he found it a bit odd how everyone was so short and how boyfriend's / girlfriends were considered mates instead of what they were just called. Honeysuckle wasn't completely ignorant to the outside world. She at least knew basic modern day terms like 'lit' (shamefully...), 'boyfriend and girlfriend' and 'turn up!!'. Heh, Zora would always get embarrassed by those.
Tex luckily fit in the house due to a bunch of uncomfortable crouching. He didn't mind though, he was meeting his 'girlfriend's' parents.
Zora's father wasn't there. Apparently, he was sent out on a search party for some missing flower. Tex didn't see it as a big deal, but Honeysuckle made it seem like the worse thing in the world.
Time passed with back pains (for Tex - thanks to crouching), smiles, laughs and food (that Tex frankly saw as unappealing).
Soon, after meeting Zora's father (which went swimmingly. Tex got interrogated for at least thirty minutes), it was time to leave.
As Zora and Tex were walking down the road, about to go through the shimmery barrier, Tex stopped just like he did on their way in, "Wait..." He starts, causing Zora's walking to come to a stop as well.
Before Zora could catch her breath, she felt herself being spun and a foreign feeling on her lips. It felt warm (and no, it wasn't the sun) and soft. Her mind was scrambling for what it was until she realized something...
It was Tex.
