I was sitting in my mom's car, head resting on the frame of the window. I felt the cold breeze in my hair making me shiver so I closed the window and snuggled deeper into my blanket. 'Chocolate' by The 1975 was playing on the radio. They were my favorite band. My mum was next to me, driving on the empty road. I felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. It was 5 am meaning we were driving for almost 5 hours. We had to be at my new school at 8 am.

We decided to move from Florida to Louisiana. She works as an interior designer but her office got relocated. Her boss said that it would be "a great new experience and she will get inspiration from the new encirclement". And for me, I couldn't say I was much happy about moving. I had friends back home which I had to leave. But it was the best for me and my mom to have a little change and to move on with our lives since my dad passed away a year ago. He had lung cancer. He was the most amazing person in my life and I don't know where would I be now if it wasn't for him. He would always support everything I do and would always take care of me. Making me try harder at everything I do and he was also a great listener. Moving on from his death won't be easy at all for me, but I have to try. He would want me happy.

------------------------------------------------------

I got out of the car, taking a look around me. There was a large building in front of me. 'Eastwood High'. My new school. In front of the building was a big garden filled with trees and wooden benches. There were two kids my age sitting on one of the benches talking. I couldn't see their faces but the girl had short brown hair made into two braids and the guy next to her had a blonde quiff.

"Olivia, let's go" my mom said handing me my backpack, starting to walk towards the school entrance. I didn't want to go for the first day because of all the traveling but she said I had to. Since I almost slept through the whole driving, I checked my hair in the rear view window, it was loose and I didn't wear any makeup. I started following my mom. We got in and the first thing I notice is all of the people that were in the hallway staring at me. "Ooh new girl" I hear some guy prompt followed by a whistle making his group of friends laugh. Great. I ignored them and hurried to the stairs. We got to the principal's office, so my mom knocked and opened the door.

"Oh hello, you must be the new girl!" the woman said overly excited, shaking our hands. I nodded with a smile.

"Please sit down." she said while showing us the chairs in front of her desk and her sitting in her chair. "I think you'll be very happy here, Olivia. We have a lot of clubs you can join to and I'm sure you'll find some good friends here."

"Sounds good." I was just trying to get over with it. I hate conversations like that.

"Here's your schedule and I'll tell your teachers to introduce you in their class. You should head to your first class, the bell is just about to ring." she said giving me a smile. I got out of her office and opened my schedule to see my first class. English. I had no idea where it is so I looked around me to find someone I could ask. There was a boy leaning on the wall, staring at his phone.

"Hi, excuse me, can you show me where the English classroom is?" I asked him the sweetest I could making him raise his head. It was the boy from the bench.

He smirked. "Yeah, follow me." he started walking towards one of the classrooms. We got into the classroom and most of the seats were already full. I saw an empty seat in the front row, just as I was about to sit, the boy grabbed my forearm and pulled me towards him "Sit next to me." he said quietly, pulling me towards his seat so I sat behind him.

 "What's your problem?" I mumbled.

"Those are just some very non-friendly people, I wouldn't recommend being in their company." he said turning to me. Now I could see his face up close. He was actually very attractive, but something about him gave me a bad vibe.

"And you would recommend yourself?" I said squinting my eyes.

He chuckled. "I'm Kian, by the way."

 "I'm Olivia."

"Can I call you Liv?" he said raising an eyebrow.

"Sure." I said smiling slightly.

The whole class got quiet and got to their seats when the teacher came in.

"Ready to start off a new school year, boys and girls?" he said as if everyone was excited as he was, "we've got a new student here. Everybody say hi to miss Olivia." he pointed his pen at me. Everybody started staring so I gave them all a light smile. A few of the girls in the front row had a very judgmental looks and the boys around me were checking me out and winking. I looked at Kian, sighing. He was giving me a supportive smile.

------------------------------------------------------

After Math, it was finally lunch. I put my books in my locker and grabbed my phone. I went to get some food to the cafeteria. It wasn't really full because everyone went outside to eat, so I joined the rest. I looked around and saw Kian waving at me to join him. I walked to his table and sat on the bench across him.

"So, how's your first day going?" he said, taking a bite of his burger.

"It's...fine, I guess" I said taking a sip of my water. Just awkward introductions and received looks.

"Kiki! You brought the new girl!" a girl came running to the table where me and Kian were sitting. She jumped on the bench next to Kian and sat on it. It was the girl that was sitting with him this morning. I'm assuming his girlfriend. She was really gorgeous. Her skin was flawless and she had really pretty eyes, "what brings you here, new girl?"

"Me and my mom moved here because of her new job. I used to live in Florida."

"Aw, that sucks." she said taking a bite of her fry, putting the rest of it in Kian's mouth.

"I guess...How long have you two been together?" I asked them. They looked at each other and started laughing really loud.

"Oh my god, new girl. You got me good. I would never date this dweeb." she said while pointing at Kian, still laughing.

"Shut up, you." Kian pushed her away from him, laughing as well, "And you know, she has a name." he looked at me "Liv."

"Is this your boyfriend?" she exclaimed. I was confused and looked at her. She was holding my phone, turning it towards me, the screen showing a picture of me and my brother. I was too busy staring back at Kian that I didn't notice she took it.

"I would appreciate you not taking my stuff, thanks." I stood over the table grabbing my phone, "Nice meeting you." I mumbled and started walking away from the table. I hate people like her. Why the hell do they have to know everything that's none of their business?

"Look what you've done." I heard Kian behind me.

"Liv!" he yelled after me. I wasn't bothered to turn around, "Liv!" he grabbed my arm and turned me around.

"What?" I snapped at him, moving my arm out of his hand.

"Please don't mind Kelsey. That's just how she is. She's always eager to know everything. When you get to know her you'll see she's actually pretty cool."

"I don't care. Keep your girl on a leash. She seems too forward." I said hoping he can see the annoyance in my voice. With that I walked away from him, leaving him just to stand there.
