Sans eventually got up and went in his room. He sat on the bed and thought for a moment. He began to scold himself for not telling her. He was afraid of her reaction. His cheeks tuned blue as he thought of her. Her hair, her smile, her, well, everything. He had fallen hard for the human.
He had left his hoodie in there again, but ti was getting to the point where he might just give it to her. He smiled at the thought of her all cuddled up in his hoodie.
Sans decided that since he was in a good mood he wouldn't do research, maybe he'd go to Grillby's instead. That sounded nice. He used one of his 'shortcuts' to get there and appeared in the same stool he always sat in. Grillby wasn't startled but instead asked him if he wanted a bottle. Sans nodded, ketchup sounded good right about now. While he waited Sans observed, all these people. They could die tomorrow. Chara could burst through these doors right now and they'd all be screwed. He sighed, and Grillby came by with the ketchup. He took a long chug of the stuff and thought about everything. Was it even okay for him to tell Frisk? Would that add more stress? He finished the bottle of ketchup and went toward the door.
"Put it on my tab." He said loudly as he walked out into the snow. He hadn't seen Papyrus since early that morning, maybe he'd go find him. Pap would know what to do. Sans hated getting advice from his little brother, it made him feel dependent. He shoukd be taking care of Papyrus not the other way around. Still though, his brother was great at these things.
When Sans finally arrived at the house he immediately went to Pap's room.
"Hey Papy?"
"YES SANS?"
"Can I... get some advice?" He rubbed his skull.
"OF COURSE BROTHER! WHAT DO YOU NEED HELP WITH?"
Sans hesitated for a moment. "Frisk.." Papyrus gave him a look of understanding.
"YOU SHOULD TELL HER HOW YOU FEEL. IT'LL MAKE IT A LOT LESS STRESSFUL FOR HER."
"Thanks bro.." he said with a smile and slowly trudged out of the room. He looked down the hall, wondering where he should go. He hesitated before knocking on Frisk's door. "Kid?"
She quickly opened the door, her cheeks a dark red. "Yes?" She sounded odd.
"Uh... would you mind coming with me for a little bit?" He looked down.
"Sure! Where we headed?"
"Its a secret." He thought for a minute and held out his hand. "Close your eyes and take my hand." She nodded and placed her hand lightly in his. He pulled her close and took one of his famous short cuts to the Waterfall.
"C-can I open my eyes?" She sounded ill, so Sans sat her in his lap. He forgot that the shortcuts could affect humans in negative ways. He quickly apologized and allowed her to open her eyes. She looked up at him, a grin spreading across her face. "So why'd you bring me to waterfall Sansy?" He blushed and looked up.
"Well there's..." he paused and sighed. "There's something I gotta tell you kiddo." He looked back at her, she wasn't grinning anymore, she seemed concerned. Tears began to well uo in her eyes.
"Ch-Chara? Chara's back?" She sighed and leaned into his shoulder, sobbing.
"Wh- Frisk no! No Chara... Chara isn't here." She stopped crying and looked at him, rubbing her face.
"What? Then... what is it you needed to tell me?" He couldn't help but notice how cute she looked, he stared a little bit and started to zone out. "Sans?"
"Oh! Uh... sorry." He looked away. "Heh, wow this is... difficult. Uh..."
"Sans... you can tell me.." He looked back at her and 'kissed' her.
"I uh...." he sighed and covered his face. "God... just... give me a minute." He sat her down beside the water and walked off over to the side. His mind was going crazy, he couldn't tell her. He was too nervous. She could do better. He felt a hand on his shoulder and he jumped, his eye lighting up as he whipped around. "Sh-shit kid... you uh... freaked me out."
"Sans, what's wrong?" Frisk pulled him into a hug. Her cheeks were still wet from crying. He hugged her back tightly, his head resting on hers.
"I just..." he sighed again. "I can't... I'm sorry for bringing you out here. We should get home." He pulled away from the hug and started walking away. Frisk knew her way home, he decided, so he took a short cut and plopped down on his bed. He teared up and slammed his skull against the wall. "Why am I so stupid...?" He whispered. He grabbed a blanket from the floor and curled into a ball.
Suddenly there was a knock. "Sans? It's me. I'm coming in." Frisk pushed the door open and sat next to him. She sighed. "What's wrong Sansy?" She layed down and cuddled him, holding his hand. When he didn't answer she just nodded, and softly stroked his finger. He silently covered her up and wrapped his arms around her.
"I'll be fine kid." He said quietly.
Hey hey hey! How's it going? Okay so I'm thinking of switching the pronouns to they/them for Frisk instead of she/her. Tell me your thoughts. Anyway, bug stuff is happening friends so I hope you are prepared for a lot of feels. I also kinda forgot to warn you that this book will contain suicide so if that will bother you I will advise you to stop reading! I woukd also like to thank you all for supporting and reading!
