A year later, everyone was still recovering from the death of Toriel, but they were able to feel happy. Undyne and Alphys had gotten married, and were expecting a new addition to the family, due to a new type of magic Alphys had discovered. Papyrus had settled down with a skeleton he'd met whose name was Boli. He was happy, and bragged about his new boyfriend all the time. Flowey had been locked up after the battle with Chara, and Asgore was working on restoring his soul in the hopes he'd be able to be released.

Sans and Frisk were in the forest having a picnic, enjoying each other's company. They were snuggled up on a blanket, eating spaghetti and telling cheesy jokes.

"I got one." Sans said, a big grin plastered on his face.

Frisk giggled. "What is it?" She asked, a small giggle escaping her lips.

"What jersey rock band do skeletons like the most?"

"Which one?"

"Bone Jovi." He says with a chuckle as Frisk breaks into a mess of giggles.
"God that was cheesy!" She said between laughs.

"So, um, Frisk?"

"What is it Sans?" She asked, looking a bit worried.

"Well I uh," he rubbed the back of his skull with his hand, his cheeks turning bright blue. "I brought you out here to ask you something."

"Okay?" She looked at him expectantly.

Sans got down on one knee, his face blue and his hands trembling and said "Frisk, we've been through so much together, and I love you with everything in me. Each time I think it'd be impossible to fall anymore in love with you than I already am you prove me wrong. So I'd be delighted, if you'd marry me?" He finished, and pulled out the ring he'd had made custom for her. When he looked up at her, her eyes were filled with tears, and there was a huge smile on her face.

"Of course I will Sans!" She yelled. He stood up and she ran into his arms, kissing him multiple times all over his face.

"I love you, Frisk."

"And I love you."

"BROTHER, HUMAN! COME QUICKLY!" Papyrus yelled as he emerged from the trees. "ASGORE IS HERE, AND HE HAS SOMETHING TO SHOW YOU! HE SAYS FLOWEY GOT A SOUL!"

Frisk and Sans looked at each other, surprised, and rushed toward the house with Papy leading the way. They opened the door and saw Asgore, he was smiling, and there were tears streaming down his face.

"Come with me." He said, and lead them upstairs to Sans's room. When they opened the door, on the bed sat the price of monsters, Asriel Dreemurr.

"H-hello." He muttered, fiddling with his sweater. "I-I'm so sorry for the pain I've caused you." He said, breaking into tears.

"It's okay. I'm glad you're back." Frisk replied, pulling the young prince into a hug.

And with that, the work began to rebuild the underground, to make it a better, Chara free place, and work toward uniting humans and monsters. They had a lot of work to do, but a newfound hope and DETERMINATION, to do it.
