Frisk yelped in pain and jumped to the side, away from the girl who'd just stabbed her in the back.  Chara had managed to cut her between her shoulder blades. It wasn't deep, but it was searing with pain. Sans rushed toward her, his eye aglow with blue and yellow. There was an intense ferocity in them that she had never seen in the skeleton before.

"How fucking dare you!" He growled at Chara, his teeth gritted. He launched bone after bone at the girl, each one barely missing her, until one didn't. He watched with joy as the last bone he flung tore into her side. She cried out in pain, dropping her knife, hands flying to the wound. She grimaced, he'd gotten her good. She grabbed her knife and pointed it at him.

"If you think you're gonna win this," she snapped, hatred glowing in her red eyes. "you're dead wrong. I've been preparing for years!" She hissed. She looked at Flowey, who was still babying his severed vine. "Take me up." She said to him. He nodded and, with his uninjured vines, lifted her up into the sky.

"You think you can win this!?" She yelled, her voice echoing through the castle. "Good luck!" She flew forward, the vines suspending her body in the air. There wasn't enough time for anyone to react as she headed straight for Toriel. Asgore lunged for her, but wasn't able to get there in enough time to stop Chara's knife from cutting deep into his ex-wife's stomach. Chara is carried off and lands on the other side of the room, Flowey's vines no longer holding her in the air. She laughs.

Toriel coughed, blood falling from her lips, and collapsed.

"Toriel!" Asgore bellowed, tears falling from his eyes as her ran for her. He said to his knees as he approached her, and cradled her head in his hands. "You're gonna be okay." He whimpered. "I-it's okay." His voice breaks and he sobs, holding her close to him. The others begin to approach her as Frisk runs at Chara.

"Don't cry for me." She says weakly as she looks up at him. This doesn't stop him though, more tears pour from his eyes.

"I love you Tori." He whispers to her.

"And I love you." She says, and fades to dust.

Frisk comes at Chara with punch after punch, her eyes overflowing with tears.

"I. Will. Kill. You!" She screams, she lands a kick on Chara's shin, sending her toppling to the ground. "It's time for your judgement!" She yells, stomping on the other girls arm and making her drop the knife. She grabs it from the ground, gripping it tightly in her hands. Sans stands behind her, a hand on her shoulder.

"Burn in hell, Chara." He growls as he summons a Gaster Blaster. "Do I have your permission to finish her, Frisk?" He asks. "For all the times I had to watch her kill Papyrus." A tear slides down his cheeks.

"Yes." Frisk mutters, she looks away and runs to where Toriel was laying. She tries to ignore the dull sound of the bones finishing their greatest enemy.

"Mama." She whimpers, looking at the pile of dust. "It's over. She's gone. I wish you could see it." Frisk broke into tears. She knew she couldn't bring Toriel back. Resetting would allow Chara to live again, and that couldn't happen. "Thank you. For everything." She whispers.

They all gathered among the graves, dressed in black, the air filled with despair. Monsters from everywhere came to grieve the loss of their queen. Frisk stood at the edge of the closest thing she'd ever had to a mother's grave. Toriel was her mother, and this didn't seem fair, but she knew it had to be permanent, for the safety of everyone.

Sans stood beside her, his concerned gaze never leaving her tear-streaked face. He held her tightly, his hands shaking.

"It shouldn't have been her." He says. "Nobody should've lost their lives because of Chara, but Toriel..." He stops speaking.

The ceremony they held for her was beautiful. Everyone shared their memories of Toriel, a few brought smiles to everyone's faces. Late into the evening, Frisk and Sans finally headed home, they were the last to leave. Sans carried Frisk home, holding her close to his body. As they got to the house, he noticed her snoring. He smiled down at her, his heart full of love.

"I told you we could do it. I know we lost her, but Chara is gone." He whispered to her sleeping form as he entered the house.

Papyrus was seated at the table, staring blankly at the wall.

"Do you need anything Papy?" Sans asks.

"I JUST... NEED TO BE ALONE." Papyrus replies.

"Of course." Sans answers. He kisses his brother's cheek and heads upstairs to lay Frisk down. He puts her down on his bed, deciding that she'd sleep with him tonight. He gets himself ready for bed, and then settles in next to her.
