Sans stopped and stared at her, his mouth open wide. "R-Really!?" He asked, shocked.
"Of course. I've had feelings for you for a pretty long time Sans. I'm overjoyed that you did all this. Besides, it'll help me forget Chara for awhile. So yes, I'll go on a date with you, my charming little skeleton." Frisk said with a giggle, her cheeks bright red. She grabbed the side of his face and kissed him, a small smile still present.
"I love you Frisk, I really really do." He looked into her eyes and stood there, holding her. They stayed that way for awhile, staring into each others eyes. Sans was the first to pull away, his face bright blue.
She grabbed his hand, a small smile still present on her face. He looked at her for a moment and then led her to the little picnic area he had laid out for the both of them. It was a beautiful set up. A little white and red checkered blanket laid out amongst the hundreds of buttercups. The little yellow petals shining in the last rays of evening light coming through the windows. A small unlit candle sat in the middle, and next to it was a woven picnic basket. Frisk giggled, eying her skeleton companion with glee.
"What?" He chuckled. "Why are ya lookin at me like that?" He asked, his cheeks turning blue once again.
"Its just.." she paused, looking down trying to think of the right words, "this is just so perfect." She muttered. "Being here, with you, and these gorgeous flowers, and the little picnic set-up. This is just all so sweet. I don't even know what to say."
"You don't have to say anything Frisk. It's my pleasure, really. Now lets eat, shall we?" He said with a grin and an exaggerated hand gesture toward the picnic basket.
"Sure." She said with a smile. She walked over to the blanket and sat down next to the basket, Sans following close behind.
"I hope this will be fine, I made it myself." He said, his voice full of anxiety.
"I'll love it Sansy."
"I sure hope so." He muttered, reaching into the basket.
"FRISK!!" Asgore suddenly yelled through the corridor. "YOU ARE NEEDED URGENTLY!"
"Um, yes Asgore! On my way." She looked at Sans sadly. "I'm so sorry Sans. I'll make it up to you I promise." She kissed him quickly before rushing through the doors, She saw all the monsters gathered on the other side. "What's going on?" She asked, fear lacing her voice.
"Chara." Alphys stated, stepping up through the crowd, a look of pure terror etched across her features. Frisk just stood there in shock.
"Wh-What did you just say?" She whispered.
"My child, Chara is almost here." Toriel muttered, walking over to pull Frisk into a tight embrace. "We are all here for you. We're prepared to do whatever you need us to."
"I-I need the strongest monsters we've got with me. Everybody else needs to be hidden somewhere." Frisk paused, and looked over at Papyrus. "Pap I have a special job for you."
"WHATEVER YOU NEED HUMAN! THE GREAT PAPYRUS CAN HANDLE IT!" He said with enthusiasm.
"I need you to protect the weaker monsters. Escort them to the sleeping chambers." Papyrus nodded, rounding up everyone other than Toriel, Asgore, Undyne, Mettaton, Sans, who wasn't currently present, and a large number if stronger guards.
Undyne and Alphys shared a highly emotional goodbye, crying and giving kisses. Frisk thought of Sans.
"Guys! Where's Sans? I need him." She whispered the last part, her voice breaking. She had to protect him, to keep him safe. One of the guards offered to find him, she only nodded in response, a grim look set on her face.
"Everyone listen to me! I need you to distract Chara if I need to heal. Do not try to kill her! I don't want any of you to die. If I die, I will reset. Chara will be defeated and I will try my best to preserve this timeline. Does everybody understand?"
There was a murmur of approval. She nodded, pleased. Suddenly she felt a pair of arms snake around her waist.
"Hey there sweetcheeks." Sans muttered in her ear. "I'll be there for you the whole time I promise. Now lets go kick some ass, yeah?" He said with a chuckle, his socket lit up with an eerie blue-green glow, sharpened bones floated above each of his hands, she just smiled.
"I love you Sans." She muttered, "EVERYONE TO THE HALL OF JUDGEMENT!" and she led her small army of monsters toward their target. The horrible events that would soon take place were unknown to her, so she powered on full of hope, full of DETERMINATION, and prayed her friends would come out of this okay. She took one last look around the room, before bursting into the room and seeing her, Chara, standing right in the middle of the room, facing them, her face dark.
"So Frisk, we meet again." Chara said with a sneer. "Oh! And I see you've brought a few friends! How adorable! You actually think you can defeat me. Oh dear, Frisk you crack me up." The child in the green sweater muttered, drawing her knife. She giggled once more before lunging at Frisk, the knife missing by mere centimeters.
