Tiger Lily's Pov

Peter kicks the sand beneath his feet as I gazed at him. I couldn't help but stare at the familiarity of him and my mother. The blue silhouette around him and the way he slightly faded reminded me of my mother.

"You're-

"Dead? Not really. I'm half dead, that's why the boys can see me and why I can bleed," he interrupts, continuing to kick the sand. "I don't remember my past life or if I even had a life before this."

A tear starts to trickle down his cheek. I walk up to him and wipe the tear with my thumb.

"You had to of come from somewhere," I stated, "how else could you be here?"

He shrugs his shoulders, more tears falling from his eyes. Peter doesn't say anything but cries. His hands fidgeted and his head was facing the sand below him, lost in thought.

I couldn't help but stare at his face, seeing the tears drip down his jawline and into the sand. Even though it wasn't, I felt like it was all my fault. This poor, dead boy, doesn't know if he had a family, how he came here, how he supposedly died. It made me feel guilty, considering I had almost everything, a family, life, feeling loved. The only thing we both had in common was no mother. Mothers were the ones to give us love and take care of us and teach us. Peter never got that. Therefore, he didn't know how to love and to be compassionate for others.

"Oh Peter," I take his hand and rub his knuckles, "I'm sorry."

He looks from my hand in his to my face, his eyes a forest green. The green that was calming and soft. The green that I could stare at forever.

Suddenly, Peter wraps his arms around me, crying on my shoulder. He sniffles, trying to speak only to choke up with tears.

I rock us side to side, shifting on one foot to another, trying to soothe the crying boy. "Peter hush. It's going to be alright."

But was it really going to be okay?

He chokes with tears until finally speaking. "I don't understand, I've never cried like this before," Peter sniffles as he hugs me tighter.

I smile, "Peter, you opened up your feelings. That's why."

He pulls away and lightly hugs himself. Drops of rain started falling from the sky, along with Peter's tears. I shielded my eyes from getting droplets of water into my eyes.

"Peter, we should go," I insisted. The rain grew more intense and the wind blew stronger giving me chills. Peter didn't move, his body was less of a ghost and more natural. I looked at the sky to see it was clouded, and I knew that the cause of this storm was because of Peter. After all, the island and him are connected.

"Peter, we really need to go! It can make you sick if you stay out in the rain too long with nothing to keep you dry!' I shouted over the rain. Being the stubborn boy he was, he sits in the sand and looks out into the ocean. "Peter! C'mon!" I tug his shirt and motion my hand for him to get up.

"I don't get sick," he muttered. The rain had already drenched his hair and clothing, and his body was trembling from the cold. I sigh and sit next to him, wrapping my arm around his back and pulling him close for warmth.

Of course for me, he was as cold as ice. But for Peter, I was a fire, warm and pleasant. He lays his head on my shoulder and closes his eyes.

"No Peter, you can't fall asleep here," I whispered. He opens his eyes and shudders. "Let's go back to camp," I suggested. He nods his head and stands up, combing his hair with his hand.

Together, we walked back to his camp hand in hand.
