Monitor

As the sun set, Raku was chained with thick metal to the concrete floor of the basement of the Hokage's headquarters. She was chained at the wrist, mid arm, waist and ankles. The shackles were too large so they were a bit loose on her emaciated frame. She was in a large, thick, glass room with wires attached to her chest and arms, and some on the outside of the walls. In a room separated by a two way mirror, there were many computers and advanced equipment. They gave her a hospital gown to wear. The new place, the wires, the tick of the clock, the eyes watching her. She began to shake with fear and felt the flashes of power start.

"It's starting." She said softly, looking down. The computers were powered up and the few scientists there left the room. They dimmed the lights and watched screens as the could see the power coming and going on the monitors. It went from low-average to off the charts every few seconds. When it surged, her eyes got bright yellow and she lifted slightly from the floor.

Her heart rate and blood pressure increased and it began.

The air crackled with untamed power as she released a wild scream. The floor cracked under the power of her yellow chakra. It visibly struck the walls like continuous lightning, vibrating the glass and sending the vibrations out so that the scientists behind their wall could feel it hit their skin. The air was tense as the computers showed the power levels off the charts.

"This...this is unreal!" "Such power is unheard of!" the specialists gasped as the Hokage's eyes grew wide. This was more than he expected. If she could be contained, and she could learn control she could be a great asset to the village. But on that note, she could be a very dangerous enemy.

She woke up on the cold floor, gown in shreds and the chains were almost pulled from the floor. One on her left wrist had a severed link and all the rest were strained. The door to her room opened and the Hokage himself walked in with another hospital gown and a key.

"We are going to monitor you for a few hours, then you are free to spend your day in the village as long as you stay out of trouble."

Raku nodded and lifted her arms with difficulty due to the heavy duty chains. He unlocked them and they fell to the floor loudly. She shakily stood and took the hospital gown, sliding it over her old one and following the man.

She lay in a hospital bed where they brought her breakfast. Hard boiled eggs, grapes and toast. At the time she didn't know but they again, gave her enough for two. And again, she cleaned her plate and drained the glass of ice water. She let them prod her with needles, check her reflexes, listen to her heart and lungs...but then they wanted to do a physical exam.

Kakashi entered the room to visit in time to hear her scream and her breakfast tray to fly at the doctor and his two nurses as they tried to pull her gown off her. She was strapped to the bed and crying.

"Enough!' his words cut through the room, making all of them freeze. "What is going on?"

"We need to do a physical exam but she's being difficult." The doctor spat.

"I don't think strapping her down and letting her scream is the best way to do that. With her uncontrolled power, who knows what could happen if she is afraid enough."

The doctor tilted his head.

Kakashi arched an eye brow. "How did she throw that tray without touching it?"

The doctor and nurses looked at the tray on the wall with wide eyes and fled the room.

"I'm sorry they did that. I will see to it that it is brought to the Hokage's attention." He came over, watching her carefully. She slowly relaxed. "Let's get these off you." He undid the restraints.

He recalled seeing her eyes flash bright yellow as the tray was thrown aggressively. It seemed that her fear was a trigger, the idiots should have figured that out.

He sat beside her, thinking if he seemed at ease she would be too. "That exam does need to be done, I can't get you out of it."

"N-not a man."

"hn?" he looked at her, seeing her look down with shame.

"I will find a female doctor to do the exam. It will be postponed until tomorrow. For now, get dressed because we are going to spend the day outside!" he smiled and closed his eyes. As per orders, Kakashi was to accompany Raku whenever she was outside, and try to make her feel as safe as possible.

He set a parcel in her lap and stood. "I'll be outside." Then left her to shower and change.

Author note: I made most  of the characters a bit taller than they are, they are all so short. Gaara only gets to 5'5! At the end of each chapter, I will be asking some questions and I'd love to hear your answers/thoughts! Please vote and review! 

What could have happened in Raku's past that made her fear men? Why does she cling to Kakashi? Even from the start in the Hokage's office.
