Chapter 30: Are we dating?

Why are they here... Together.

"Get out," Colton says. "Both of you," He says.

"Wait a minute Colton, he wants some time to explain... So I'm going to let him," My dad says.

"What do you mean your going to let him?! This guy almost killed Clay and not to mention they both broke Riley's heart!" Colton says boldly.

"Shut up! If you wanted a second chance and no one gave it to you, what do you think would happen?" My dad says.

"Well I would never try to kill someone!" Colton says. My dad sighs.

"You can either listen to what he has to say, or you can go up to your room and stay there for a week," My dad says. Colton sighs, rolls his eyes and starts to go into the family room, but before he does my mom slaps him upside the head.

"I saw that," She says. He nods and goes into the family room.

"He is going to explain himself. And we are going to listen," My dad says. "Now everyone, in the family room. We all go in the family room. I am sitting on Cooper's lap who is beside Clay and Colton.

"I-uh..." Blake starts.

"Ok I really don't want you in my house, and your not making it better," My dad says.

"Listen, everyone, Ma'am, Sir... Blake is... Arrogant, he has anger problems, and he is down right stupid. But I was so mad at him for everything that he has done to your family and your daughter, that it was like I knew what he did to you guys, but when he told me the story, I thought about it... And it made sense then what I thought happened," Madden says.

"You don't know what he did," Easton says standing up. "He did horrible shit! And I'll be dammed if I ever forgive him for what he has done!" Easton says and walks out of the family room and up to our room.

"I'm about to loose it if he don't start talking," Colton says.

"You've already lost it, your just haven't shown anyone yet," I say to him.

"I did push Clay off the bridge," He says. Cooper's hand clenches into a fist. I hold his hand. "But I didn't do it on purpose," He says.

"What are you talking about?" My mom says holding my dads hand.

"We were looking off the bridge after sun down, it got dark... Then a car came. He was going really fast and Clay was in the aim of fire, I was trying to push him to the side of the bridge so the car could pass, but it was right after he broke his leg, and he didn't want to put pressure on it so he got off balance and then... He fell into the creek. After these guys took me with them from the bridge after they called 911 for Clay and that's all I remember of that day," Blake says. I look at Clay and he looks back at me.

"I don't really know if that happened, that seems very... Odd," My dad said. Blake sighed.

"Sir, I just... Blake, I wouldn't defend him either, but he called the cops back over in Kentucky, and they looked into it and looked at the security cameras from that night and it was true. You can even call them yourself," Madden says. My dad was about to say something but instead, Clay did.

"It's true," Clay said. "I remember, The cars headlights were coming right at me, Blake pushed me out of the way but the bridge was under construction and I feel through the rope into the creek, then I woke up in a hospital," Clay says. We all look at him.

"He is telling the truth?" Ember asks, who was in a chair that was by itself.

"I don't know," Cooper says at the same time.
