-Michael's POV-
The day of the party soon arrived so Luke and I were busy getting ready, well I was trying to get ready but Luke kept distracting me by touching me anywhere he could. So with a little difficulty we finally managed to get dressed in between small kisses and touches and if there was a blowjob involved, well no one had to know about that.
"Sometimes it pains me physically to see you looking so beautiful." Luke says admiring my appearance with a small smile on his face. I shake my head slightly and look down in embarrassment from his compliment.
"I'm not beautiful." I say bashfully. Although I don't think I'm really that bad looking I just don't believe that I'm 'the most beautiful boy alive' to quite Luke.
"You really are, baby." Luke says almost breathlessly like he can't quite take in my appearance or something.
"Thank you, Lukey." I mumble with a smile on my face and look away to adjust my tie.
"Are you ready to head out?" Luke asks me with less emotion in his voice and I nod my head in response.
We head out to Luke's car and drive over to our work place. Normally I'm supposed to be working on Saturday's but Jack was nice enough to give me the day off although I didn't request it. Maybe Luke had something to do with it but, I really don't know.
I feel a little jittery at the thought of seeing Calum again. I mean I did almost kiss the guy or at least I thought I wanted to but I realized I was just hurt and seeking some positive attention. I guess I felt like Calum would be able to give that to me and I'm so glad that he's such a gentleman and chose to not take advantage of me. I have sort of missed him though because he's such a nice person and he's so easy to talk to. We also have quite a bit in common which helps me become more comfortable around him and allow myself to be, well... myself.
"Who's leaving the company anyway?" I ask curiously and Luke simply shrugs.
"I wish it were Calum though." Luke says with a flat voice.
"What? That's kind of mean..." I say trailing off but not really wanting to go into it. After all, Calum is associated with the huge fight Luke and I had so I guess he brings back bad memories for Luke.
"Calum is a dick. Always has been. I don't know why Jack even hired him in the first place." Luke mutters angrily.
I really would like to argue this and tell him that Calum is a genuine worker who's friendly and intelligent but I think it would be the best for everyone if I didn't say anything. Or at least not anything that would defend Calum. On the brighter side of things, Luke didn't bring up the topic of our fight that included him so I guess that's something.
"I don't know. I guess you'd have to ask Jack that." I say choosing my words carefully.
"He'd just say some bullshít like he how much Calum works and puts time and effort into things. I'm not really in the mood to hear that fuçking shít." Luke continues angrily so I try to think of something else to talk about to distract Luke.
"Hey, uhm, so how's Ashton been doing lately?" I haven't really talked to him since he took me out shopping and I had such a great time with him even though I was worried about Luke the whole day.
"Ashton? Yeah, he's been good. Apparently trying to sort something out with his girlfriend." Luke says somewhat absent.
"Oh, that doesn't sound like it's very good." I say with a genuine frown. Luke must've noticed me because he takes one hand off the steering wheel to squeeze my thigh.
"Don't worry about Ash. He's a big boy who can take care of himself." Luke assures me as we pull up to our company's parking lot. Luke puts the car into park and we make our way up the rather large building to the biggest meeting room they have. I guess Jack chose this room so they can fit as many people as possible for the party. Upon entering many people greet Luke and smile politely at me. I don't know many of the workers here since most of the time I'm working with only Jack or recently Calum but I have seen a couple of them when walking through the hallways or in the break room.
"Hey! Luke and Michael! I was wondering when you guys were gonna show up." Jack says walking over to us with a wide grin on his face. This man never shows any negative energy, he's just always happy-go-lucky but I think that's kinda refreshing. Although I'm pretty sure Luke is getting sick of it.
"Hey, Jack." he says almost completely monotone. I giggle internally at this because honestly, Luke can act like such a child sometimes.
"Hi, sir." I say with a smile and Jack shakes his head at me.
"How many times have I told you to just call me 'Jack'? You don't need to be so formal with me, Michael." Jack says with a pat to my shoulder.
"Right, I'm sorry I keep forgetting." I say with a light laugh and Jack joins me. Luke simply rolls his eyes and grumbles to himself.
"Aw, c'mon, Luke. Don't be so grumpy, this is a party!" Jack exclaims trying to cheer Luke up in some way but it doesn't really work as Luke just frowns at his brother and wraps an arm around my waist.
"Whatever, at least try to enjoy the party a little." Jack says and excuses himself to go talk to other people.
"Can't you lighten up a little bit?" I ask Luke and he just stares me with a small pout.
"I'd much rather be at home with you cuddling on the couch." Luke whispers into the ear so no one else can hear.
"As much as I enjoy that, we can't do it constantly." I say and Luke just shrugs.
"Well, technically we could."
"I don't think that's healthy." I giggle and Luke just shrugs again. I suddenly notice Calum standing just a few feet away talking with another co-worker. I also realize I don't even know who's leaving the company but Luke doesn't know either so I guess we can't be the only ones. But still that's kinda sad isn't it?
I shake my head of these thoughts and try to think of a way I could talk to Calum without Luke noticing because I know it's not gonna go well if I'm seen. It's almost as if Calum is thinking the same thing because I notice him giving me little side glances.
As if on cue though Jack comes back and pulls Luke over to whoever to introduce them so I take my chance and look towards Calum but he's already walking towards me.
"Hi Michael." he greets with a gentle smile.
"Hi Calum." I respond, although I feel a little awkward considering I almost kissed him and he knows about what happened between Luke and I.
"Do you think we could go talk in another room? It's a little too noisy in here don't you think?" Calum asks and although it is noisy I don't think Luke would appreciate me leaving the room with Calum.
"We'll only be gone a few minutes and then we can come back, okay? I just want to talk to you about a few things in private." Calum assures me.
Well, it's not like anything bad can happen... right?
I agree with Calum and we slip away from the party to go into another break room just down the hall. I hope Luke doesn't notice or that we just get back quickly but either way leaving the room makes me nervous.
"How have you been?" Calum asks me once we're alone.
"I've been alright. How about you?" I ask politely but Calum shakes his head.
"No, I mean how have you been since you and Luke had your 'fight'?"
"Oh...right. Uhm we made up and-" However Calum cuts me off.
"Is that a ring?!"
Oh crap.
