Chapter 7

Katie woke up in the middle of the night with excruciating pains in her stomach. She jolted up in her bed and clutched her stomach. She jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. Her mom heard her and followed her into the bathroom. Just as Katie threw up, her mom held her hair back, without saying anything. After a few minutes, Katie slouched down onto the floor, looking at her mom.

"I'm sorry," Katie apologized, breaking the silence.

"I'm very disappointed in you, Katie," her mom replied. "You promised."

"Mom, can we please just get past this? Everybody makes mistakes and there's nothing we can do about it now."

"Do you even know that Tyler kid?!" Katie's mom exclaimed.

"Obviously!" Katie sassed back.

"Katie," her mom warned, not in the mood for sass. Katie just rolled her eyes.

"Katie, I was thinking about something earlier..." Katie's mom stated.

"What?"

"I think you should consider abortion," she said without hesitation.

"Mom!!" Katie nearly screamed.

"What? I think you should consider it. You're sixteen years old! I honestly don't think you can handle giving birth," her mom further explained.

"Well you're wrong cause what I actually ''can't handle'' is killing my baby!"

"All I said was to consider it, Katie!"

"Hmm... Okay. I considered it. Answer's no," Katie was definitely not having an abortion. She didn't care what her mom said.

"Fine. Then what about adoption? You're baby still gets to live but it gets to grow up with two loving parents that know what they're doing."

"Tyler and I know what we're doing! I'm not giving him ... Or her... Up for adoption either!" Katie exclaimed.

"Why not? You won't even be home to watch the poor thing! You'll be in school all day, so guess who gets to take care of him? Me." Katie's mom argues.

"You're just being selfish! This isn't even you're decision! You just sit around at home all day anyway!" Katie was getting very frustrated with her mom.

"You're not keeping the baby," Katie's mom then got up off the floor and walked out. Neither of them realized Katie's dad and Dylan standing there watching until she stormed out.

Katie tried to stay calm but she stomped passed Dylan, knocking him into the wall.

"I don't care what you say! The baby stays!" Katie screamed then slammed her door.

Katie's dad just looked at Dylan.

"You should probably go talk to her. She listens to you."

Without an answer, Dylan went across the hall and opened Katie's door.

"Leave." She demanded.

"Katie, you shouldn't of yelled at mom like that," Dylan said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"Seriously leave if you're gonna lecture me."

"I just think you're being a little unfair to her. She's just trying to help."

"I'm being unfair?! I'm being unfair." She laughed. "Did you not hear her?! She's being a little selfish, don't you think?"

Dylan sighed, then talked in a lower tone. "Stop yelling. I agree with you. It's just that dad's standing out there and told me to basically talk some sense into you."

"Oh, okay." Katie whispered sarcastically. "Well you can leave now, now that you've "talked some sense into me"." Katie rolled over in bed and looked at her clock. She still felt Dylan sitting on her bed.

"I meant now. Not whenever you wanted to."

Dylan sighed and left the room to his own room.

Tyler sat up in bed, listening to his parents arguing, as usual, downstairs. He could just barely make out what they were saying. It was mostly shouting though. He finally decided that he should at least try to get some sleep, even though he's suspended for the week.

Tyler sighed and thought how frustrated he was with his parents. They're always fighting.

Just as he laid his head on the pillow, he heard a baby crying. Startled, he looked to his right. There was a wailing baby boy lying next to him.

Tyler jolted up in bed. He looked to his right and sighed. No crying baby. And no fighting from downstairs. He quickly remembered that his mom wasn't even living there anymore. He rubbed his eyes and slightly shook his head as he tried to go back to sleep.

Katie woke up to the bright sun rays shining through her window. She groaned as the thought of facing her classmates shifted through her head. She didn't know what they knew and what they didn't, hoping they didn't draw conclusions from yesterday.

What does matter anyway? She thought. Soon her stomach will get bigger and bigger and there's no way to stop it. They're going to find out anyway.

She let out a sigh as she unwillingly tumbled out of bed. She threw on a tight peach colored tshirt and black leggings. Hey, might as well enjoy tight clothing while it lasts! She pulled on her brown Uggs and threw her hair up.

Katie walked downstairs, avoiding everyone. As she grabbed a banana, she saw her mom out of the corner of her eye.

"Oh mom! I meant to ask you; can I have my phone back?" Katie asked, facing her.

"You're joking," her mom let out a laugh.

"I just need to make a quick call! And what's the point of even taking it away? What's done is done so..." Katie replied.

"Whoever it is, it can wait until you get to school."

"Actually, it can't."

"Then use the house phone! You're not getting your phone back until I say!" Katie's mom nearly shouted.

Katie rolled her eyes and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind her.

At school, Katie went immediately to her locker.

"Katie!" Katie turned to the sound of her name. Ew, Caroline. As Caroline skipped towards her, her blonde pony tail swaying, people moved to different sides of the hallway, making way for her.

"Is it true?" Caroline whisper-screamed.

"Is ... what true..?" Katie asked playing dumb. Lie, lie, lie.

"Pregnant?" Caroline mouthed.

"What?! Who's been saying that?" Katie asked, having a slight feeling it was her blabber mouth of a friend, Lindsay.

"That guy Mike, that other really hot guy named Tyler's friend or whatever."

Mike.

"Well, is it true?" Caroline insisted, knocking Katie out of her daze.

Katie smiled. "I'm already late. Can we talk later?" she said, as she was already walking away. She needed to talk to Tyler ASAP.

*A/N: Okay, so I don't usually do authors notes... I feel like no one reads them lol. I don't tbh .. Anywayyyy. So yeah, this is probably my longest chapter. :::)) I'm going to start making them longer. I didn't realize how short they were before. But yeah. Sorry the ending was sort of crappy. I was in a rush to update for ya 🙈😁
