Chapter 4
"No, just get off." Katie resisted and tried pushing Tyler off.
"Look, I didn't mean for this to happen." Tyler said apologetically.
"I know." Katie said quietly. She sighed then walked over to her bed and plopped down on the edge; Tyler close behind. Tyler sat close to her and rubbed her back.
"Do your parents know?" Tyler asked.
"No.." Katie said emotionless, staring at the wall in front of her.
"We'll do it together, okay? We're in this now... together." Tyler reassured her.
Right then, Mike walked in.
"Dude, there you are! What the hell are you guys doing?" He asked. That was enough to annoy Katie.
"Just get out!" Katie got up and slammed the door, Mike on the other side of it.
"Damn." Katie heard Mike say on the other side of the door. She rolled her eyes. Tyler smiled. After she heard him walk back down the steps to Lindsay, she walked back over to the bed and sat down.
"What are we gonna do, Tyler?" Katie said a little calmer.
"I don't know, but we'll figure it out together." Tyler replied.
"Okay.." Katie responded as she heard her phone buzz on the other side of the bed. Then it buzzed again. And again. She reached over Tyler and grabbed her phone. Someone was calling her... Her mom.
"Uh.. Hello?" Katie answered the phone.
"Hi Katie. Are you okay? You seem nervous or something.." Her mom replied back.
"I'm not..?" Katie replied, even though she was. She was sort of creeped out how her mom called just as she was talking to Tyler about.. you know.
"Katie, I know you. Something's wrong," her mom insisted.
"Mom! Nothing's wrong! God, can you just tell me why you called?" Katie practically yelled. She could see Tyler looking at her out of the corner of her eye.
Her mom sighed on the other line. "Please don't talk to me like that." She said calmly.
"Sorry.." Katie apologized, not really meaning it. Could her mom just get to the point already?!
"It's okay. You're dad and I are going to be home a little earlier. We should be home in about an hour or so."
Katie's whole face, heart, everything just fell. This was just too much to handle. She was gonna break down. Her face turned red. She really didn't want to face her parents right now.
"Katie? You there honey?" Her mom asked.
"Um. Yeah.." Katie hesitated. She felt like she was going to cry. She knew she had to tell her now before Lindsay, who was still at her house, either blabbed because she does that.. Or Tyler will convince her to get it over with. He's pretty good at convincing considering what happened that night last week...
