Katie stood there in shock at what Dr. Taylor had just told her. A miscarriage?! But how, Katie wondered. She didn't feel any pain that should be expected from a miscarriage.

"What? Are you sure?" Katie asked confused.

"I'm reading it straight from the tests Katie, I'm sorry." Dr. Taylor responded, looking through the tests again.

"Well, I'm just finding it a little hard to believe since I've felt no pain." Katie was getting heated. "I understand that you're a new doctor? Yeah, so, can I maybe talk to a little more experienced doctor please." Katie knew that was harsh but she needed to know for sure, she couldn't have these doctors reading these tests wrong.

"Um... Yeah... I'm sorry.." Dr. Taylor stuttered quietly, her cheeks burning red. She exited the room. Katie sighed. After about another 15 minutes another, older looking doctor entered the room.

"Hi Katie, I'm Dr. Buckingham." She introduced herself.

"Hi."

"I strongly apologize about our new doctor. She has been having some trouble regarding the tests. But I'm happy to inform you that you did not have a miscarriage, and you will be having a healthy baby-"

Katie ran through the doors of Corner Valley's and stopped at the host's podium.

"Hi is Tyler on his shift today?" Katie asked excitedly.

"Yes, I'll go get him for you." The smiley brunette answered. After a minute or two, Katie saw Tyler walk out of the kitchen and towards her.

"Hey, is everything okay?" Tyler asked, guiding Katie outside to talk.

"Yeah, I have good news!" Katie exclaimed once they were outside. "We're going to have a healthy baby girl!" Tyler's eyes quickly widened with joy, but just as quickly sank.

"I thought your mom wanted you to give it up for adoption.." Tyler reminded Katie. Katie shook her head.

"I - I don't want that, and she's going to have to understand." Katie answered, remembering her mom's argument with her about that.

"Just understand that I'll do whatever it takes to keep this baby.. Our baby girl." Tyler said softly. Katie looked into his eyes then quickly jumped up on her tip-toes and kissed him. His eyebrows raised in shock and Katie's cheeks turned a shade of pink.

"That was weird, I'm sorry." Katie apologized, playing with the hem of her shirt.

"Don't be." Tyler slightly laughed and reached for her hand. "We need things to work out between us if we're going to raise this baby. I know I've been.. well, a jerk.. and your whole family probably hates me but.. I don't want to just be the guy that helps pay the bills, you know? I want to support you and come to all of your appointments, and I want us to be together Katie." He looked down at their interlocking hands. "That means you don't have to be embarrassed to kiss me." He looked back up into Katie's eyes and smiled.

"Oh. Well," Katie wasn't expecting to hear such a nice speech. "Here I was thinking you didn't really care, considering that's how you act around your friends."

"I know, I know, I'm like a completely different person around those guys but I'm willing to change," he rubbed his thumb against Katie's hand in circular motions, "for you Katie."

They both turned when they saw one of the cooks storm out of the restaurant.

"Greens! This isn't a date, get your ass back in here if you still want this job!"
