Chapter 9
This past week was basically hell for Katie. Neither Tyler OR Dylan were at school this whole week due to their suspension from their little.. Um .. Fight. Her two "best friends" still weren't talking to her. Well, she wasn't talking to them... She was still kinda pissed and she wasn't the type to forgive-and-forget right away. Which left her all alone and opened to all rude comments like "slut" and other mean, nasty things as she passed her classmates in the hallway. She couldn't believe how quickly they just turned around and stabbed her.
'What did I ever do to you?!' Katie thought as she lay in bed.
Saturday.
Finally.
She knew the weekend would go by in the blink of an eye and she would be forced to go back to that hell hole of a school. No one, not a single person, not even the fricken teachers, defended her or helped her out. It was unbelievable. It was like everyone had to be picture perfect at that school. Katie got this uneasy feeling in her stomach and it wasn't the baby. It was the feeling of tears coming.
No. She wasn't going to cry over these stupid people. If they're going to ignore her, pass rude comments, and act like she has some sort of plague, then she doesn't need them. None of them were true friends anyway, obviously.
Katie took a deep breath as a single tear escaped and rolled down her cheek. Dylan walked straight into her room then stopped mid-way into the doorway.
"Um, are you okay..?" he asked cautiously. "Is it the baby?"
"I'm fine. It's not the baby." she replied, wiping the tear off her cheek.
"Then what's wrong?" Dylan asked, stepping into the room fully and sitting on the edge of Katie's bed.
"Everything else."

Tyler's buzzing phone woke him up from a deep sleep. He aimlessly moved his hand to his night stand to grab his phone. The front screen read New Message: Mike
Mike: me and the guys are hittin the movies round 2 u should come
Tyler: cant gotta do something
Send.
Tyler would really love to just get out of the house and go to the movies with his friends but this "something" was important.
Tyler hopped out of bed and quickly got a shower, got dressed in somewhat nice clothes and headed out the door. He wasn't normally a breakfast-person. Tyler slammed the door shut as usual, hoping to wake his lazy ass dad.
After about 15 minutes of driving, he finally reached his destination. Tyler took one last look in the mirror of his car then headed in.
"Hi, I'm here for my new job," Tyler said kindly to the girl standing at the podium. Her name tag said Carly in a loopy, girly handwriting.
Carly looked up from her phone and stared blankly at Tyler.
"I would ask for your name, but I already know, Tyler Greens." she smirked at Tyler.
'Ugh, Carly from health class. I heard she was giving Katie a hard time through some of the guys at school.' Tyler thought.
Tyler rolled his eyes. "When do I start?"
"Now."

Katie wasn't usually the type to lay around all day. She always wanted to do something; be active. She finally got out of bed... At like 1:00. She walked downstairs, wondering if anyone was even home.
"Dylan..?" she called.
"Yeah?" he answered.
"Do you want to go do something? I'm bored."
"Sure, what did you have in mind?" Dylan asked.
"Lunch?"
"Then the mall?"
"You read my mind." Katie said with a smile. She needed some quality time with her brother.
After about a half an hour of driving, due to traffic, they finally arrived at their favorite little restaurant called Corner Valley's. They had the best mac&cheese in Katie's opinion. Dylan and Katie walked into the front doors.
Carly smirked as they walked in. "Well, you're just getting all the guys, aren't you?"
"I'm her brother, dumbass. And don't talk about her like that!" Dylan instantly got mad that people were talking about his sister like that. "Just get us a damn table for two."
Katie looked down as she followed Dylan and Carly to their table. They took a seat across from each other.
"A waiter will be right with you," Carly said in a mocking voice then walked away.
Katie sighed. Dylan stared at her with concern.
A loud bang from the kitchen startled both of them.
"Dude! Watch where you're going!"
"I'm sorry!"
Katie knew that second voice a little too familiarly...
Tyler quickly ran out of the kitchen to get more paper towels. He stopped instantly when he reached Katie's table.
"Hey, Katie. Dylan." he smiled awkwardly.
Dylan rolled his eyes. Katie looked up at Tyler.
"You work here?" she asked.
"Yeah.. First day; you can tell how great I'm doing." Tyler replied sarcastically.
"Oh my God, I'm going to barf." Dylan started. "Did you just get this job so you could 'help' with the baby expenses?"
"Yeah, actually..."
"Stop bothering. We can handle it ourselves. You've done enough." Dylan snapped at Tyler.
"Stop Dylan! He's doing everything he can! If he didn't care than he wouldn't bother finding a job in the first place so just stop! I think it's really nice that he's being responsible and not just leaving me in the dust." Katie explained in a yelly way. "Besides," she added. "you're just mad cause he beat you up."
Dylan was silent.
"Tyler!" someone from the kitchen just barely yelled. Tyler rolled his eyes.
"Gotta go. Bye." Tyler gave Katie a charming smile and ran to get the paper towels.
