Krystine's POV
"Jim, she's terrified of needles." Bones said the second my dad reached the opposite side of the bed from Bones and Spock.
"I know." My dad said, rubbing my arm.
"I need to get this into her. She's losing blood faster than you can say shoot." Bones said quickly.
"Alright." My dad said then looked down at me. "Krystine, you need blood. Let Bones do what he needs to do."
"Dad no. Please don't let him." I pleaded. Needles were like my worst fear. And my dad knew this. No way was it getting near me.
My dad leaned over me to hold my arm down. Bones preceded looking for a vein to put the needle in. I began hyperventilating, knowing that there was nothing I could do to stop him.
"Found it." Bones commented, looking over at me.
"Krystine, this is just like back in the Starfleet Academy. Remember when they had to do blood work on you?" My dad asked me softly.
"No, I don't. Dad they had to knock me out." I replied, remembering the situation.
My dad looked at Bones. "Can you?"
"No, she can't loose conscious Jim." Bones answered.
"Sir, where are you?" Sulu's voice came from my dad's communicator. he pulled it out and flipped the top open.
"Med bay." My dad replied.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"Doesn't matter. Are you getting this ship flying?"
"Well, we were all waiting for your orders. We need you here."
"Alright I'm on my way." My dad finished, then put away his communicator.
"Bones, don't do anything. I'll send Chekov here." My dad said as he exited the room.
Kirk's POV
I made my way out of the med bay and was almost at the bridge. I wish I could be the one to comfort my daughter, but there was no way we were going to get off the ground without me in the bridge. I entered the bridge doors, and everyone was staring at me with worried expressions on their faces. I speed walked over to the captain's chair and sat down.
"Chekov." I said.
"Yes?" He replied, turning around to face me.
"Med bay."
"But Sir, don't you need me here to fly ze ship?"
"No it's alright, please go."
"Yes Sir." He said, standing up and making his way out of the bridge.
"Where to?" Sulu asked me from the front of the bridge.
"Starfleet Headquarters." I answered. I planned a surprise graduation party for Krystine, which will be held at a gala building at the Headquarters. I'm hoping she will heal in time for it.
Krystine's POV
Chekov came running through the door. "Ze Captain sent me." He announced.
"Great. Now get on the other side of the bed." Bones ordered. Chekov did what he was told and Bones pulled out a cotton swab and a bottle with some sort of fluid in it. He put the cotton swab on the opening of the bottle, and flipped the bottle over for two seconds. He placed the bottle on the table near him, and rubbed the cotton swab on the blood work area* of my arm.
"What is that?" I asked Bones.
"Just rubbing alcohol. I have to clean the area so no bacteria enters your body when I put the needle in." He replied. I shuttered at the thought of the needle. I guess Chekov looked confused and Bones noticed.
"She has belonephobia." Bones told him, not looking up from rubbing the area.
"Zat is?" Chekov questioned the medical term.
"Fear of needles." Spock said, answering his question.
"Yeah, Jim called you here to hold her down and keep her calm." Bones said, putting the cotton swab on the table, next to the bottle. Chekov simply just nodded his head. Bones leaned over so his face was above mine.
"Krystine, I don't care how scared you are, do not close your eyes, do not faint. You know what? Just keep talking to Chekov." Bones said, then took the needle from Spock.
Chekov sat on the edge of the bed, facing me. He took my hand in one of his, and placed his other hand on my shoulder opposite him; to keep my arm steady for Bones. I could feel my eyelids becoming heavy again. I was struggling to keep my eyes open. I felt so light headed and dizzy.
"Krystine, stay awake." Chekov said, shaking my shoulder a little. I opened my eyes as wide as I could and stared at the white ceiling. I could feel Spock gripping my wrist and Bones placing one hand on my upper arm, the other with the needle on my lower arm so he had a good shot and wouldn't miss the vein. Panic rushed over me and I began hyperventilating, again.
"You're doing fine. Just remember zat you made it zrough hot metal on your stomach. Zis is nozing compared to zat." Chekov said, trying to calm me. Well guess what, it wasn't working. I desperately tried to pull my arm away, but their grip on it was too strong. I broke out in tears, almost in the state of a mental break down.
Suddenly, I could feel metal being inserted into my arm. The needle. Oh my God. My brain reacted to this and I screamed at the top of my lungs. My mind went blank. The only thing I could think of was the needle in my arm. I had to get it out. Only, one problem. I could feel Bones taping it onto my arm. Chekov had slightly loosened his hold on my hand and I ripped my hand out of his to reach over and get the needle. He was caught off guard but within a split second, grabbed my wrist and placed it on the pillow near me head. I was still screaming away, and Bones pulled up an IV stand so Spock wouldn't have to keep holding the bag of blood. He then took the bag and placed it on one of the hooks.
Next, he picked up the bag with the clear liquid in it, and placed it on another hook on the IV stand. He attached a thin tube with a needle on the end of it to the bag.
"Now, the IV fluid." I heard him say.

AN: *blood work area- pronator teres
Sorry I didn't want to use the actual medical term, in case you didn't know what it was. Also, technically you insert the needle into the vein, because the pronator teres is the muscle that runs there. You're injecting the vein that runs along the pronator teres. If you've ever had blood work done or dye injected during an MRI or CT scan, you know what vein I am talking about.
Ps. Yes, I want to be a doctor or surgeon. And fun fact my last name, Jaeckle, is pronounced like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, so yes I will literally be Dr. Jaeckle. I know, creepy.
