Diagon Alley was amazing! First we went to the Apothecary and Draco and I got the things we needed for out Potions class. After that we went to Flourish & Blott's and Madam Malkin's. Both were really cool shops. I loved Flourish and Blott's! It was full of old and new books. And, in Madam Malkin's we met the Potter boy, Harry. I thought he looks rather nervous. Draco was a bit mean to him. I think he could have been nicer, but I'm not him. I don't decide his actions. In Flourish & Blotts, there were odd titles too, I was dying to go back. Then we went to the best shop in the entire universe. Ollivander's Wand Shop! It was amazing! Draco got a 10" Hawthorn wand with a unicorn hair core. I got a 11.5" Cherry-wood wand with a phoenix feather core. I love my wand, it's light and nice to hold and it got a beautiful emerald set into the handle. So perfect! After Ollivander's we went back up the street and into Eyelops' Owl Emporium. I chose to buy a white barn owl. I decided to name her Athena, after the Greek goddess of wisdom. After we reached Malfoy Manor, I said my farewells. I said thank you to Lucius and Narcissa. And I promised to write to Draco, although I would be seeing him tonight

I rushed up the stairs and burst into my bedroom. Everything was spotless, Aemelia must've been cleaning. I placed the backpack on the bed and grabbed my dress. I must've changed in record time. I ran into the bathroom, brushed my teeth, gave myself a spritz of perfume and combed my hair. I grabbed my wand and a small shoulder bag. I shrunk my backpack and placed it inside the shoulder bag. I slipped into my shoes and slid down the banister. Again. Hazel barked when she saw me. I dropped off the banister and gave her a quick kiss, I had to go.

"Ma? Where are you?"

Ma, Pa and Orion appeared from the dining hall. They were all dressed in their nice things. I reached inside my shoulder bag and pulled out a pair of emerald and gold earring. Ma nodded and lead the way to Malfoy Manor. We all arrived outside the big front doors. I knocked on it three times. Orion scowled. What was his problem? Narcissa opened the door.

"Ella, Markeus! How lovely. And Orion, well, aren't you handsome? And Alya, how lovely to see you again"

I thought it was a bit over the top but I simply nodded. After the whole, 'hi-hi-greeting' thing, I excused myself to go and find Draco. I wandered up the big stairs and took a left. I knew exactly where his room was. Not in a creepy way or anything, I just did. I knocked on the door.

"Hello?"

"Draco, it's me. Open up."

The door opened in a flash. Draco was.... WAIT WAS THAT A SUIT?! I gave him a once over. Suit.

"You look great"

"Thanks, you look rather handsome yourself"

He smiled and closed the door. I sat down on the edge of his bed and looked around. I felt something papery under my hand. I picked it up. Draco stopped. It was a photo. Of him and I. We were just kids then, I laughed in spite of myself. I looked at the younger Draco, he was holding out an apple. I was giggling.

"I can't believe you still have this...."

"Well, I found it as soon as I got back, it was on my nightstand. I suspect Dobby found it and put it there."

"Well, I'm glad he did. I still have mine, you know?"

"Really?" Cue the sarcasm.

"Really. I do. I've got it in a notebook filled with other photos."

"Ah, I see."

I looked him in the eye, he was smiling. But it was a mischievous smile, oh no.

"Alya, I've got something for you actually...."

"Oh" was all I could say. Nice job me. Funnily enough, I'd brought Draco something too.

"Here. I um... hope you like the colour green."

Draco handed me a small box. I opened the lid, inside the layers of silk, lay a necklace. It was beautiful. It was a small emerald pendant, and around the emerald was a the wings of some magical creature.

"Draco-it's beautiful. You shouldn't have."

"Please, it's yours now. I want you to wear it."

I shakily picked up the necklace and tried to put it on, after several attempts Draco took the necklace and fastened it around my neck. H lead me to a mirror and I looked at the necklace. The light caught it, and it changed colour. Different shades of green appeared. I gave Draco a hug.

"Thank you" I whispered.

After dinner Draco took me up onto the roof. I smiled and looked at the stars, they were beautiful. I looked over at Draco, he was staring out at the moon. He looked sad.

"Draco?"

"Hmm?"

"Your present, remember?"

I stood upright and looked at me, his eyes were full of pain. I felt like crying, why wouldn't he tell me?

"Draco, what's going on? Tell me. You're hurting, I can tell. Just tell me."

"I-I can't."

I nodded and reached into my bag. I pulled out a small box, it was wrapped in a black strip of satin. I pressed the box into his hand. I looked at it and pulled off the sating ribbon. He looked at the uncut emerald that lay within. He smiled.

"It's perfect."

"I found it on a holiday. I kept it 'cause I knew one day I'd need it."

"Funny. It would look lovely on you."

"It's yours. Keep it. Please."

"I will. I think I'll get Father to turn it into a ring. You know, as a symbol of our friendship?"

"Agreed."

Draco smiled and pulled me into a hug, I hugged him back. I need friends, friends like him. Maybe Hogwarts was going to be like this. And maybe, just maybe... good things would happen.
