A/N: HAPPY HALLOWEEN <3

I stood outside the entrance of Professor. Dumbledore's office. There was a Griffin statue mounted on a platform. I stared blankly past it. How am I supposed to get past this? Apparate? I looked at Blaise and raised an eyebrow.

"Any ideas on how we're going to get past this?"
"I though you were the smart one!"
"Ya know Blaise, some people aren't sorted Ravenclaw for a reason."
"Yeah yeah, I was just kiddin-"
"What time is it?"
"Uhhh... 9:00"
Great. Absoulutely great. Curfew and we were stuck in the corridors with no way in. I looked around... a prefect would let us in right? Who was I kidding, they would just tell me off and send me off to bed. And Amy? This was important. We-

"Oi, you lot. What are you doing out of bed?"

"We are so screwed."

I heard Blaise unfreeze Amy and place her under some sort of spell. The Prefect strode towards us, I took in his red hair and freckles. A Weasley? Oh Merlin it was Percy Weasley - the Gryffindor Prefect.

"You shouldn't be out of bed, I'm going to report you to Professor. Snape! Honestly, what.... what are you doing here?"

"W-we need to speak to Professor. Dumbledore... it's urgent."

"Why do you need to speak to Dumbledore? Couldn't you just tell a Prefect of a Head of House. I mean, Prefects have a very important job you know"

I tuned out and rolled my eyes. All the Prefect must have gone into his head. I glanced back and saw Blaise fiddling with his shirt hem.

"Look, I'm sorry. But we have to speak with Professor. Dumbledore, it's urgent! Now, it would be much appreciated if you'd let us in."

"Alright, alright. I'll let you in."

Percy walked up to the statue and whispered something. The griffin's wings opened up to reveal a small round platform. Percy stepped into the platform and motioned for us to follow. I grabbed Blaise's wrist and pulled him up. Amy quietly stood behind Blasie, I carefully took a step closer. I glanced at Amy's face. Her eyes where blank looking, devoid of expression and personality. I sent a questioning look at Blasie. He carefully averted his gaze, he is so annoying!

The statue finally stopped moving, the wings parted and revealed a medium sized platform. Percy shooed us out and descended in the statue. I looked at my surroundings, there was a big oak door with an intricate golden handle. It was like we were in a small room, walls on two sides, a door and rounded hump from where the griffin statue was. I brushed the 'Headmaster's Office' plauqe with the tip of my fingers. I gently knocked on the door.

"Come in."

I motioned for Blaise to follow. The door swung open softly and I took a small step into the room. My first impression was, well - amazed. There was a cabinet full of bottles pushed up against one wall, enough books toe start a library, a small raised platform on which sat a delicate looking telescope and then there was the Headmaster himself. He sat upon a high-backed chair, kind of like a throne. He was dressed in a deep purple robe and his white beard glinted in the light. He had half moon, horn rimmed glasses and blue eyes that twinkled with a light that was full of energy. He rested his interlaced finger on the table.

"Well I can't say it's often that I have First Years visit me at a time like this. This is a rare treat."

I simply nodded and looked around in awe. I quietly walked up to a bird on a perch.

"Sir, he's a phoenix isn't he?"

"Yes, yes he is. His name is Fawkes."

I stretched out my finger and watched him as he turned his head slightly. I gently touched his wing, he didn't flinch. He let out a soft coo and nuzzled against my palm. I giggled and stroked his back.
