Chatper 23: Who is Yoko?

     "Mika hold still or this won't work." Sakura said as she was healing me. I was lieing on my stomach on the couch in Ms. Shinmi's office. The spell Sakura was using hurt, but it was effctive. I was moving to much from the pain that Sakura couldn't heal the one spot. Ms. Shinmi was sitting at her desk laughing at us. Sakura had no trouble healing Kenji even through his wounds were wrost then mine. I was the one giving her a hard time, "Sakura that's easy for you to say your not the one being held down and having a spell used on you." Kenji had to hold me down so that Sakura could work on me with less trouble. Of course I was making a big deal of this, but I hated the spell she was using. It was one that she'd used on me before. After fifteen mintues she gave up. "That's the best I can do with Mika acting like a child. Lucky I was able to get all of the major wounds. Once she takes that ring off and drinks blood her body will do the rest." Slowly I sat up and put the new shirt she brought for me on. "Sakura why did Ms. Shinmi bring you here. When she said witch friend I though she meant one of the other staff members."
     "Yoko, you told them that you were Ms. Shinmi." Sakura glared across the room at Ms. Shinmi. She stopped laughing and looked a little scared of Sakura.
    "Mistress, I didn't lie. That is my name after all."
    "Yes, but we agreed that you'd go by your real name Yoko, not your family name. What if someone had overheard us. Everyone knows you as Yoko Kato."
    "But Mistress their your friends. I thought you would've told them."
    "I've told you before never to call me mistress." She pulled out a charm with a cat on it and Ms. Shinmi changed into a black cat. "Yoko this is your pusihment, until you learn to listen to me." She walked over and picked up the cat.
    Kenji and I sat there and watched Sakura aruge with cat Ms. Shinmi for ten mintens. "Sakura as much fun as it is to watch you aruge with a cat. Will you please tell us what going on." I said.
    "Yoko or Ms. Shinmi is my familiar." Sakura explained that Yoko Kato is her real name but she really is Shinmi Neko or Death Cat. She is a descandacted of the first Death Cat and her family is bounded to Sakura's family. Since Sakura is a descandacted of Nanami, she can break the curse on Yoko. Yoko is different from others in her family, she has another soul living withing her. The last Death Cat died years ago, but somehow her soul was trapped with in Yoko callher. Yoko has none of the powers of the Death Cat because of this. But is able to use magic, through the use of her dust, because it is in her blood. Shinmi Neko is the soul that is trapped within Yoko's callher, this is the one that has all of the power of the Death Cat. Shinmi Neko is her name and it means Death Cat. Sakura can control with form Yoko takes with the charm she used, but not when Shinmi takes over Yoko's body.
       "So the one that saved us was Shinmi not Yoko." Kenji said.
       Sakura was petting Yoko who started talking. "No it was me, but sometimes Shinmi's and my souls intertwine. And I can get some of her personatily and she can end up with some of mine. But don't worry you'll learn to tell us apart. When the bell is on my callher its me. Sakura has to take it off sometimes if we need Shinmi to fight at full strength. Other then that I control when Shinmi can use my body. And even then she can't use any of her powers with the bell on."
    "Yoko really is a teacher here, but we didn't want anyone to know who she really is. That's why Shinmi isn't allowed out no matter what. And no one other then you guys and Zakuro know that she's my familiar. If anyone where to learn that, they could easily learn who she is. If they know my family's history, which thankfully not many do know." Sakura said as she walked around the room
    "But what about the crystal of light and my family?"
   "Our families have known each other since Nanami gave your family the jewel. From what I know, you family linked the jewel with your families powers. So that only those in your family could use the jewel and even then only the family's heir can use it's full power." She stopped and looked at me. "Your mother was the last heir and you're the next. But we don't know where the crystal is."
