Chapter 30: Old Friends
Yoko let me go back to my dorm, where Shadow was waiting for me. "What do you want?" I asked not really caring why he was here. He gave me a smile that said I wasn't going to like the answer. "That was a nice chat you had with the angel and succubus. You do know their just using you right? Of course you do. Your whole life people have been pretending to be your friend so they could just use you. Hopefully you've learned from your mistakes." Anger was growing inside of me, I really wanted to smack him. But as a being of nothingness, touching him would blacken my soul. Using magic wasn't an opstion after my fight with Zakuro. So, I tried to ignore him, as I went to my closet. There I grabbed my normal everyday clothes. Changing out of the school's uniform. I put on my black knee length skirt, black and red belly-t, black leather jacket, and black boots. Finishing off with my long black hair out and hanging over me shoulders. I needed a break from this school and everyone, so I was going on a little trip. A trip to my childhood house in hopes of finding anything to bring back my memoies. Without another thought, I opened the window to my third floor dorm. Jumping out and landing gracefully on the ground. Before anyone could stop me, I ran for the school's gate.
Each of the eight academies is protected by a powerful barrier. A barrier that keeps those not allowed into the acdemies out. I've studied books on how to break a barrier, how to create one, and sneak in or out of a barrier undeceted. When I came to the edge of campus, I placed a charm I wrote onto the barrier. Closeing my eyes, I foused my energy into the charm. This charm acts as a link between me and the barrier. Through the charm the barrier will realies my magic, opening a path for me. Outside the gate waiting for me was a vampire named Akio and demon named Aya. Both went to Destiny Academy and are old friends of mine from before I was adopted. Aya is daughter from the lowest and most hated family demon family and Akio is from a noble class of vampires. Both look like everyday teens, but their actually well over four hundred. "How honored I am that the beautiful demoness Aya and the well respected Akio have come to visit me." I said.
Aya shook her head, "Cut the crap, Hayashi." Aya being from a family of non-noble demons, the lowest ranking family in all of demon history and the most hated. You would think she was evil and a bitch, but no she's the opposite of her whole family. Aya didn't want to end up like everyone in her family, hated and being attacked all the time for no reason. So, she taught herself how to dress and act like a noble. Working her way up the ranking until Akio's family took her in. Her fighting skills are unmatched, even through she sealed away all of her demon magic and has to use mararits. Still being a member of the Chi family, not many trusted her even through she was different from everyone in her family. To prove that she wanted nothing to do with them, she give up her demon magic. For demons, each family has there own secrets and magic. Giving up ones' demon magic is like saying 'I not apart of the family anymore'. Akio's family hired her to be Akio's bodyguard.
Beside her, Akio was laughing. "You haven't changed a bit, still as bitchy as always." Akio is a laid back easy kind of going vampire. Even as heir to the Kato family, he doesn't act like a noble. If anything Aya is more of a noble then him if you count attitude and appearance. As always Aya was wearing a classic kimono, while Akio was dress like a human, wearing jean, a white t-shirt, and tennis shoes. Walking over to Akio, I slapped him. "That was long over do. Don't think I've forgotten how you almost got me killed." I said, then looking at Aya, she spoke. "We heard that you enrolled in Crystal Academy, but didn't believe it. Who would've thought you would actually enroll at one of the academies. We also learned about your vampire side awakening." Aya may act like a noble, but at times the bitchiness of her family comes out. My anger started to grow again, causing my fangs to enlarge. Grabbing the neck of her kimono, I bared my fangs. "What do you know?!"
Aya just smirked, "I know that there's more going on then you think. That your enemies maybe the only ones you can trust and that your friends may betray you. The question is what do you know, young vampire?" She grabbed my hand and twisted hard, forcing me to let her go. Keeping the pressure on my hand, she spoke, "Mika, you know better then to touch me. Remember who you are." With me still in her grip, she bent my hand further back then threw me. Damn, I've for gotten how strong she is. Aya walked over to me and grabbed my shirt. She was about to slap me when power washed over us. It was Akio, giving Aya a warning. "Aya release her. We came here to help, not to kill her." Akio gave Aya a sharp look, telling her that he was serious. She let go of my shirt, I dropped to my knees coughing from lack of air. My eyes were almost blood red, the color they get when I'm about to lose control. I glared at them, "Why the hell are you here then?"
Akio ran his hand through his hair. "You remember how Aya has her family's power of sight? Well, she had a vision about three days ago." Akio explained that Aya vision was about a war, one worst then the Great War. All of the Races and humans would be fighting against one another. Both the human world and the World of Night would be in complete chaos. But there was one who chose no side, and with the crystal of light was able to being peace. The problem is that this being was of more than one race. "We want you to use a spell that will make the visions clearer. For helping us, Aya will tell you about her last vision." I turned to walk away, but the next words stopped me. "It was about your parents."
