Accidentally Overheard ( A Before You Exit / Riley McDonough Fanfiction )

Chapter 10

We had stopped a few feet before where a nice man took over the driving while Riley and I relocate to the back seat. Wow I just realized that could be taken badly. Not the bad way you nasty peoples ! 

As we slowly drove through the line I saw celebrities and their dates walking happily down the red carpet. Hey cool ! They really do have red carpets ! I thought that was a myth you know like Cinderella or Pixies. Anyway back to what I was saying. They were all happy but I don't see how that's possible with things being shoved into their faces. It's starting to freak me out and I don't do well in a freak out. 

" It'll be okay. I'll be right there the whole time. " Riley said practically reading my mind. 

" But- " And before I even had time to stammer a sentence it was our turn and the door swung open. 

Riley stepped out and offered me his hand which I happily accepted. I would've probably tripped if he hadn't even though I wore my brown converse ( to match the dresses belt ) instead of heels. Yep I wore sneakers to a movie premiere. Don't hate if you've ever seen me walk in sneakers you'd understand why I don't wear nor own a pair of heels. 

Suddenly the car door was closed behind me and the driver drove off quickly. Well I guess that's not an escape option anymore... I guess I have to cross the abyss of personal space violators. As we walk it's not terrible or so I thought at first. About 3 feet in ( just enough to not be able to run back the other way ) we were swarmed with paparazzi and I was blinded by dozens of flashes. I smiled the best I could as questions were being tossed right and left at us. 

" Riley ! Is this your new girlfriend ? " One asked stuffing a microphone into the aisle.

" How'd you meet her ? " Another said shoving to get in front of the dozens of others being withheld by barricades. 

" Where are the other boys ? " Another shot.

" How do you think your fans will feel about you being taken by this mystery girl ? " One woman said trying to get around a rather large man just standing there. I laughed to myself at the sight.

Suddenly they start to get really pushy and started getting personal. I could feel tears start to form as the crowd was starting to become too much for me. Carson will kill me if I ruin my makeup though so I hold back the best I can. Riley senses a change in me as he turns to look at me. His smile vanishes as he quickly rushes through the crowded area. Before I know it we're in a mini break type area just before the one on one type interviews that are supposedly scheduled. 

" Are you alright ? We can leave if you don't want to stay. I can call them to bring the car around back and- " 

" No ! I mean no that's alright. I'm here for you and I'm not going to let a little crowd overwhelming me get in the way of having a good time. Well as good of a time as a forced public appearance can be anyway. Plus this next part seems much easier and less crowded. " I said as quickly as I could but to where he could still understand me. 

" Are you sure because we could always leave and do something else. I don't want to make you- "  Next thing I know I used the most unexpected way of cutting him off. I kissed him. The cameras went crazy as I pulled back Riley seemed to be disappointed and shocked all in one swirl of twisted emotions printed onto his face.

" Sorry I couldn't find another way to get you to stop worrying and I- " Now it was my turn to be cut off with none other than a returned kiss. Our lips ,as cliche as it sounds, seem to fit perfectly together and my arms lightly wrapped around his neck while his moved to my waist. The whole world seemed to vanish as it was only the two of us. I barely heard the clicking of the cameras and I don't really care that they're taking pictures of this because this moments too perfect.
