Accidentally Overheard ( A Before You Exit / Riley McDonough Fanfiction )

Epilogue

A/N: I tried to wait till christmas but being the person I am I couldn't wait. I'm bad about not being able to wait to give things to people so here it is. The final part to this story. Enjoy !

" So boys I think we're all dying to know, who's single and who's taken ? " The interviewer asked the boys. I smiled as I watched from backstage with Carson who asked to come along which was unlike her. I wonder what's up with that ? 

" Single. " Toby started off and all the girls in the crowd went crazy. 

" Taken. " Riley said looking towards my direction with an enormous cheesy smile. 

" Taken." Connor said sheepishly and the audience and other 2/3 of the band were shocked. 

" Oh really ? Who are the lucky ladies ? " The lady asks already knowing about me. I mean what fan/paparazzi wouldn't ? It's been nearly 2 years since we started dating and the fans were always saying how they ' ship Elly ' whatever that means. 

" My girlfriend Ella. We've been together for almost 2 years now. " Riley said a goofy smile plastered on his face and I couldn't help but giggle.

" And how about you ? " The interviewer asked Connor. 

" Yeah bro. Who's this mystery girl ? " Toby said wiggling his eyebrows. 

" Her name's Carson and she's the most amazing girl in the world. " He said dreamily and then it hit me like a sack of potatoes. 

" You ?! " I whisper shouted to Carson who nodded happily. 

" When ?! " I asked. 

" Welllll..." She said extending the L a little too long for my liking. 

" It's been about six months... " She said looking guilty as my jaw dropped to the floor. 

" And are these lovely ladies here today ? " The interviewer asked and my eyes widen. She's not about to do what I think she is. No way is she going to-

" Yeah they're backstage right now. " Toby answered for them. 

" Oh that's amazing ! Let's bring these lovely ladies out then shall we ? " She asked as a man ushered Carson and I forward. Toby's going to pay for that later. That's right, No cupcakes for him !

" And here they are ! " The lady said all too happily as I walked over to Riley and Carson walked to Connor. 

" How are you ladies today ? " She asked sweetly. 

" We're lovely. Glad to be here. " I answered being the girlfriend with more interview experience. 

" So what's it like to date the boys of Before You Exit ? I mean it must be incredible. " She said shifting in her seat. 

" Well I can't answer for Carson but to me it doesn't seem like Riley's any different from a normal guy. I mean of course there is the whole being apart during tour and him having an incredible job such as this ,but other than that it seems normal. Perfect but normal. " I said smiling over at Riley who grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. 

" That's so sweet ! And how about you ? "  She asked Carson, probably hoping for some new gossip material. Typical interviewers. 

" Like she said, of course we're apart a lot but we love each other and that's all that really matters. Not him being a well known musician or his pocketbook or anything else. It's beautiful chaos. " She said with a giggle and I was impressed. She handled that really well for her first interview and question from the monsters known as paparazzi. 

The rest of the interview is pretty boring and I end up playing with Riley's fingers throughout most of it. All she did was ask a bunch of random questions to the boys anyway though so it's not like I was being rude. I guess I wasn't giving her enough gossip or something because she at least acknowledged Carson. The interviewers don't typically like talking to me anymore though so I don't really mind anymore. It's because I know how to keep the gossip to a minimum and they can't get ratings without gossip. Oh well. 

After the interview we walk backstage with the rest of the group. Riley was in the front and I somehow ended up at the back. As we turned down the ever winding hallways Riley suddenly disappeared and before I know it Riley pulls me around a corner before anyone can notice we're missing. 

" Sorry about that. I didn't know she was going to pull that one on us. " He said before kissing me passionately. We haven't been alone together in a long time and it was nice to finally have some alone time with him.

" It's alright. She's just doing her job and I think that went well compared to some in the past. " I said laughing at the memories of some of the worse interviews.

We stood over there hidden for what seemed like hours. Sometimes kissing ,sometimes just cuddling and talking ,and sometimes just sitting there together. When I said it was perfect I wasn't lying, I really thought it was perfect. This has been the best two years of my life and I wish it never had to change. 

" Riley ? " I asked suddenly. 

" Yes beautiful ? " He asked concerned. 

" Do you think we'll be this happy if we ever get married ? " I asked. 

" I can't say for sure about being this happy ,but I do know one day you'll be Mrs.McDonough if I can help it. " He said and I looked up at him. His features fixed seriously as he stared down at me. 

" R-Really ? " I asked. 

" Really. I love you to no end and one day I'll make you mine permanently. " He said with a smile spreading across his face at the thought as he stared off into the distance. 

I giggled to myself. " You're crazy sometimes. Lucky for you crazy's an incredibly attractive look on you. " I said kissing his cheek softly. 

" You don't look too bad when you're crazy either. " He said pulling me closer to him. 

" So how about it ? " He asked suddenly and I looked up confused. 

" What do you mean ? " I asked. 

" Would you like to be Mrs.Ella Rose McDonough someday ? " He asked and I chuckled burying my face into his chest and inhaling his scent. He always smelled like peppermints and Axe body spray. It was a nice combination. 

" I would love to be. Someday. I mean just thinking about ditching the last name Valentine is amazing but switching it for McDonough sounds a million times as amazing. " I said snuggling closer into him. 

" Then how about we make someday today ? " He said and to this day I've never been so happy in my life. 


A/N: No I'm not crying *Insert sniffles here* There's just something in my eye ! Okay so it's officially over... This was sort of a short epilogue and I'm sorry for that but I got all the story in here and now I'm really sad but I'm going to start my new Connor story soon ! Yay !
