As a child, Britney attended an all white grade school. The word nigger is still used in her hometown. Britney had a close relationship with a black man. It was not well seen by her entourage and ended.
Michael was born in an all black neighborhood and was no stranger to racism. He was accused of stealing candy from a store and called nigger by the owner. When he attempted to buy a llama, the store owner tried to persuade him to not buy the animal, as he didn't think a black person could afford it. He was stopped when driving his Rolls-Royce because they police officer felt the car "appeared to be stolen".
As an adult, Michael traveled to South Africa and spend time with Nelson Mandela. Like him, he believed racism is nothing but ignorance. Likewise, he thought education was key to solving this problem, so he always contributed funds to black colleges.
