Michael planned his financial security from a young age. He feared in time he would be left destitute and be forced to work, as many other artists, especially black ones. He also said he didn't want to reach the age of 50 still singing Billie Jean. The This is it tour would have had him doing exactly that in what many see as a desperate attempt to regain financial health.
Though a lot of Britney's songs have been written by other people, she contributed at least a song to almost every album. Freedom is a recurrent theme in her songs. Ironically, she's lost it under her father's conservatorship. What has kept her alive is being controlled, the very thing she hates most.
