OVO Fest was kicking off.

Roy Woods was doing his thing on stage. The crowd were responsive but subdued, saving their energy for the star of the show. I strolled around backstage, fixing myself a drink, then going to look Aubrey to wish him good luck.

I met him in the hallway as he was gathering everyone around for a group prayer. I slipped my hand into his and locked our fingers together before giving it a tight squeeze. He leaned down and kissed my cheek, whispering a small thank you.

He was nervous. I'd never seen him nervous before.

A few minutes passed as Aubrey thanked God for all he'd done for and all the blessings that he had been given.

I thanked God for Aubrey.

A beautiful, kind, thoughtful man who was allowing me to live his spectacular life with him. I owed him everything. As the group dispersed Aubrey pulled me in for one final embrace, our stomach clashing together upon contact. I grimaced and pulled back, sure to not let on to Aubrey.

"What's wrong? You okay?" He asked me, his eyes shone with curiosity, but we all know what that did to the cat. I brushed him off.

"I'm fine baby, obviously. Have a great show tonight."

He pulled me closer, enveloping me with soft kisses, but I squirmed happily and broke it off, not wishing to get dicked down in the middle of the hallway.

We went separate ways after kissing a final time. Me to the side of the stage and him underneath it. Before long the summer sixteen intro had begun to play out across the Air Canada centre. The crowd was intense and the atmosphere was thick.

They fed into every word this man poured out to them. As they should. He put his city on in ways no one else could. Everything he did he did for his city. The 6ix. The 6ix GOD.

As '9' went to 'U With Me?' and then to 'Feel No Ways' , the crowd stayed wrapped around his pinky ring. As did I. He was captivating, the whole set up was truly mesmerising.

The huge balls dipped and rose in time with the songs, flushing various colours to set the tone of each song.

The visuals on the screen only electrified the stage, the strengthening the stage presence that Drake had. He stole my breath every time. I was rapping along word for word, mocking the fade outs and the fade ins.

Watching rehearsals had ruined my mind. For the better of course.

When one song had finished, no music came on afterwards. I looked around as if something was wrong hoping to catch someone's eye but no one seemed to be panicking.

I thought maybe I was the only one to notice. But instead Aubrey spoke. His deep masculine voice rung out across the stadium. They cheered at his every pause. I stood staring st him wondering what the hell was going on.

He said something a long the lines of "blessing us".

He walked back behind the stage as the lights went dark.

I soon heard the reverb from the beginning of "Needed Me" and I quickly knew what the fuck was happening.

Rihanna was happening.
