Chapter eight

Jade's P.O.V (Dove)

I woke up back in my bedroom to what sounded like Jynx on a rampage I quickly got up, and promptly paused I blushed as I looked down at the rose covered silk pj's that I was wearing.

I gave my own super suit a rueful look before the shouts outside turned into loud bouts of laughter. Muttering I walked out while rubbing sleep out of my eyes. "What's going on?" I asked yawning slightly, and cringing internally when my voice came out sounding almost like a little girl's.

"Oh Jade," Jynx rushed over to hug me, startling me out of my mind, "I'm so sorry," she started looking me over, almost like an older sister, "Are you okay? I didn't mean to wake you up." still in shock I simply nodded.

Cyborg snorted and rolled his eyes, "What did you think would happen when you were screaming at the top of your lungs?" his reaction knocked me out of my shock.

Raven and I snickered while Jynx playfully scowled at him and stuck out her tongue, "Oh hush up you." I giggled again and just sat and watched them banter back and forth for a little while.

I don't know how much longer all of this would have gone on, except for the fact that I yawned again, catching Jynx's attention and earning a sympathetic look. "Oh Jade," she smiled softly and hugged me, again just like an older sister, "Go to bed." her smile softened the order slightly, "In fact why don't we all go to bed?"

When everyone nodded we all started back down the hall. I smiled as I said my good nights while we all split and went to our separate rooms, except for Cyborg who went with Jynx, to get a good night's sleep. Or that at least had been the plan. I sighed as I stared up at the blank ceiling.

I sighed once again and was just about to roll over and go to sleep, when the crime alert went off. "Well it's official," I grumbled, "Someone up there hates me."

As I rushed into my suit I could almost hear Cyborg's shout of "Aw come on!"

I smiled softly as the pixies helped me into the last of my suit, a vest embellished with the same broken heart and angel wings as the tattoo on my right wrist, before I rushed out to see what was up.

"Who are they?" I heard Starfire ask in awe as I turned the corner.

I don't know Star," Robbin stated, "I've never seen them before." he sounded jealous making me look up at the screen and stop dead.

I continued to stare frozen for a few seconds, "Their names are Thorn and Jester." I stated as I watched the two battle it out on screen.

Robbin blinked and turned to me, "And you know this how?"

By this time Beast Boy had joined us and he was looking stunned, "Wait a minute, you mean these are the two people you were chasing the night we found you in that alley?"

I nodded as I continued to to watch, "And we have to stop them before their mentors show up or we're all doomed." This is the point where I'd half expected to hear Robbin's call to action for us to be on our way, but instead the team was just standing there staring at me.
