~Chapter Seventeen~

I love you, you know.

I love you, you know.

I love you, you know.

I love you, you know.

I love you, you know.

Liam and I lay in bed. It's 10:00 in the morning and I open my eyes to see his bare chest against my head. I rest my hand on his stomach. His arm around me, holding me close. The perfect cliché moment. I'm not sure how I got to this. But I do know that I don't wanna be anywhere else but here. Beside him. Breathing in his air. I wish I could make this a picture. One that I can jump in and re-live whenever I wished.

"Good morning beautiful." I hear a whisper in my ear, and look up to see Liam smiling at me.

"Mmm hey." I stretch and sit up. That's when I realize I'm actually wearing my tank top And shorts. Oh- I'm wearing...clothes? "Uh wh-"

"Don't worry, it didn't happen." I secretly let out a sigh of relief. The thought of not being a virgin made me a little nervous.

Liam pulls himself out of bed. "Want some coffee?"

"Uhem."

"Right, your a hot chocolate kinda women."

"Yes please." The sun beams through the window across the room, but the brisk air around us still gives me goose bumps. I see Liam's shirt hanging on the bed side. So I take it. And put it on. It smells just like him. I step out of bed and my sockless feet make contact with the chilled hardwood. "So where are we?" I ask. Because I don't remember anything. Not from last night. I don't know this place at all.

"What are you talking about? This is my apartment."

Apartment? That's new news.

"Right." I say uncertain. He got an apartment? When did this happen? "Could you tell me..about the apartment. And what happened last night? My memories a little foggy." I dunno it's a long short.

"That happens to you a lot doesn't."

"Guilty." I say.

"Well as you know, last night was the anniversary of Rachel."

"Rachel?"

"Ash don't make me say it."

"Liam. What happened to Rachel."

He scratches his head. "She killed herself, Ash. After you told her about us. About everything. How could you not remember?"

"She- she what.."

"Two years ago, last night. You broke down, and I brought u home."

"I- I don't b-believe it." A tear rushes down my cheek. My eyes go blurry and I wipe the water away. When I scratch myself. I look at my hand. Rapped around my ring finger, is a small, shimmering diamond. Oh my..

"Oh no did you scratch yourself again? You do that so much." He laughs a little. Liam and I. We're getting married? That's not possible. I gotta get out of here. "Here ya go." He hands me my hot chocolate. Topped with whipped cream with one chocolate chip on top. No wonder I was so close to the Liam when I woke up. Or cause we're getting married. Gosh. The thought can't settle with me.

"Thank you." I say. "I need some air."

"Yeah sure. It's cold out there though. Put something warm on." So, I take off his shirt and put on a long comfy sweater and gym slippers -or at least what I'm assuming are my slippers-, and walk out the door. My hot chocolate clenched in my hand. Although at the moment I don't wanna think it, Liam was right about the cold weather. Just walking down the hallway to the elevator makes me cold to the bone. No wonder I woke up so close to Liam this morning. Or the fact I'm engaged to him. Engaged to Liam. It doesn't feel right. The though refuses to settle with me.
