It was a long drive to Granada, the entire way Emilia kept flirting with McGarthy. I did over 89 eye rolls. But, it was fun. Poor McGarthy must have been so tired of driving. It doesn't make sense to hire someone to drive when you're on a road trip, but me and Emilia weren't good enough to be driving on highways. Not to mention, our families wanted us back, alive.
"Can we stop on the next rest room? I need to pee.", Emilia said.
"Looks like it's your lucky day today. It's here..", McGarthy said while stopping at one.
"You must be my good luck then.", Emilia put her head in front making its way from between the front seats and kissed George on his cheek.
"Yeah, you should go now!", I interrupted their fairytale.
Emilia gave me a cold look and got out of the car.
"Someone's jealous.", he said tapping his fingers on the steering.
"Seriously? Bless the poor soul.", I rolled my eyes at him.
He chuckled and continued tapping his fingers on the steering.
"You enjoy it, don't you?", I turned towards him.
"Grabbing your attention? More than you can imagine.", he instantly replied to my question.
"No, I mean girls falling head over heels for you."
"Not really. It's like I want this one girl to fall for me, she wouldn't. Rest of them, don't really matter.", he said with no expressions.
"Ahha! I think I'll go use the restroom too.", I got out of the car.
When I and Emilia came back, Emilia was going to sit in the car before I interrupted.
"Hey, you know what? Sit in the front.", I spoke.
"What about your ankle?", Emilia asked.
"It's fine now.", I smiled at her and sat in the back. I could see McGarthy looking at me through the rear view mirror, I chose to ignore it.
Rest of the drive was silent for me. Emilia kept speaking to George, I was busy clicking pictures of the view. Did I mention that I'm a photographer? Not just because I own a camera but I've actually studied photography.
We finally arrived at our hotel in Granada. Man! This place is gorgeous. It's like wow! Our hotel looked really cozy. We were going to be in Granada for a week, and I could sense good things coming our way. Until..
"The reservation says you have booked only two rooms.", the receptionist told us.
"How is that possible?", I looked at McGarthy.
"Check again. There must be a mistake.", George furiously asked the receptionist.
"Sorry sir, we have only 2 rooms empty and those are booked for you."
This is what happens when you go on a a vacation in the start of the year. Ahh! We came to know that we had only two rooms. One with a double bed and the other one with a single. Now, it was Emilia's call.
"But-"
"Let's not waste any more time. I'm tired.", I cut in McGarthy. "Emilia, who do you wanna share the room with? George or me?
"Neither..", Emilia instantly replied.
"What?", I was confused. Why'd she leave a chance to share room with McGarthy.
"I'm on my periods.", Emilia came closer and whispered.
Anyone who knows Emilia, knows that she cannot share a room with someone when she's on her periods. She needs space, a lot of it. I once slept over at her house when she was on her periods and trust me, it didn't turn out well. PERIOD.
