About a month has passed since I'm back from Spain. I told Emilia everything after she returned, she was more disappointed than angry. Her relationship with Ian has been going really smooth, they FaceTime regularly.
As for me, Kim and her annoying stuff is still there. I've been working on my book, constantly. For my career, I have no idea of what I'll be doing. I had completed my Master of Literature degree, I wanted to write but never had enough courage to publish any of my works.
It feels like by publishing this book, I'll let people invade my privacy. I'll let them in my life, showing them my scars. I don't want anyone to judge me on the basis of how hopeless the characters of my story are. Writing is addicting, it's the only world where things go according to my will. I let my characters believe in love, I let them open up, I let them do it all because I cannot. I didn't want to. Or maybe because the last time I believed in love, it didn't turn out too well.
As of now, I'm working with dad. His big electronics dealership needs loyal workers, and with this huge deal he signed, it has been hectic in office.
I picked out a jeans from my closet, with a white tee shirt and sneakers. That was my usual pick.
As I walked inside the office building, I noted that there were some kind of preparations going on. The office was cleaner than it usually is. All files stacked up in their places. Everyone was dressed in clothes 10x times more formal than they are on other days.
"Oh my god Alex, what are you wearing?", the French receptionist looked at me with disgust from up to down.
"We call them clothes in English.", I rolled my eyes.
"But today is a very important meeting.", she spoke in her typical accent.
I simply ignored her and walked towards dad's cabin.
"What is with all these preps going on around here?", I gushed inside.
"What props? Who got props?", he said adjusting his hair using the front facing camera of his phone. He was all suited up. The last time I saw him in a suit was during his wedding with the bitch.
"Preps dad, as in preparations. Why is everyone going crazy in here?", I went and sat on his table.
"Get off the table, Alex. I just got it cleaned.", he picked up the intercom and spoke, "Get someone to clean my table Lindsey."
I choked on the virtual pizza I was eating. Damn. Pizza. I want pizza.
"Okay, now will you tell me what the f is going on here?", I got down the table.
"F? What's f?", he said arranging his tie.
"It's like the short form for fuck. For example, you're f'ing my mind right now. Just tell me what is going on?", I banged my palms on his table.
He gave me a confused expression. I don't blame him, I've been very aggressive since the past month ever since.. well yeah.
"I'm sorry dad.", I sat down on a chair on the other side of the table. "It's just that, you're all so worried about something. Preparing. And I have no clue."
"It's okay little girl.", he smiled at me. "There is a dress in your cabin, change and come back. I'll tell you."
I simply nodded and went to my cabin.
I took the cover that settled on my table and went to the washroom to change.
It was a beautiful royal blue pencil dress, with a white blazer. Totally formal. I came out of the washroom to see a box from Jimmy Choo, some gorgeous white heels waited for me inside it.
