"So now, tell me who he is."
I could see him shocked. I don't even get it, he is the freaking owner of this hotel. Why'd he lie to me for him?
"He..", he paused. He was repeatedly opening and closing his wrists. His palms started to sweat. "His..", he stuttered.
"Tell me what his name is."
"Trey McGarthy.", he took a deep breath.
"And who is he?", I shot my next question at him.
"The owner of TCM & Co."
"TCM & Co.? The TCM & Co.? The world's largest group of hotels?"
"Y..yes!"
"You sure you aren't lying?"
He nodded.
"What is your name? And why didn't you tell me that he wasn't the tour guide earlier?"
"Christian.", I could see his breath getting heavier.
"Christian what?"
"Christian McGarthy.", he looked straight into my eyes. "I'm Trey's younger brother."
I was broken by the words he said. I sat down right against the wall I was standing by and broke into tears. I couldn't hold it in for any longer. Both of them, lied to me. And I trusted them, like a fool.
Christian came and kneeled down next to me, "Look Alex, at least listen to his side of the story."
"Shut up.", I looked towards him. My eyes full of rage. "I've had enough of you two lying scums. Just shut up."
I got up and started walking away.
"Alex..", Christian shouted from behind. "Trey would never do anything to hurt you.", I looked back at him one last time and moved out of the hotel.
I called Emilia and asked the details of they hotel they were staying in. I had some unfinished business.
Ian drove me there. He called Emilia and the two of them met. As for me, I walked into the room Trey had booked for the two of us.
"Hey!", he greeted me with a grin on his face.
I walked past him without saying a word and started taking my bags.
"Alex? Baby girl? What is wrong with you?", he came and hugged me from behind.
Even though I wanted to push him, straight away, my body wouldn't let me. My hands got numb and stopped functioning. As he started kissing my neck and then collarbone gently, tears rolled down my face.
"Hey..", he turned me towards himself. "What happened?", his eyes full of the same concern that he's been faking all this time.
"Why did you lie to me?", I asked calmly. It was no point shouting. Raising my voice wouldn't have gotten me anywhere.
"When did I lie to you?", he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer.
My hands still denying to move in defence.
"Leave me.", I said with expressions strong enough to make him leave me.
"What is wrong, Alex? You've been acting strange since morning."
I simply sat on the bed and broke down into tears, yet again. It was like my mouth wouldn't speak a single word against him. Neither of my body parts were in my favour. My body ached to feel his touch, my lips craved to kiss his. Why can't I walk away if I hate this person, so damn much?
