My neighbors think I'm crazy
But they don't understandI wake up with a jolt, greedily gasping for air as if the air was knocked out of me.
I open my eyes noticing I am in my room.
The wooden floor is hard and cold.
'I must've fallen on the floor when I came back.' I think to myself.
Then I start to worry about my family.
'They are probably worried sick.' I think to myself as I struggle to get up from the floor, bolting through my door, then downstairs.
As I reach the bottom of the staircase I see my mom and sister in the kitchen.
"Mom, I'm not missing, I'm here. No need to worry. You can call off all the search parties for me." I say out of breath, as I engulf my mother in a hug.
"Mommy, do we need to take Kevin to a doctor? He is talking like a mad man." My little sister, Mary says as she begins to laugh uncontrollably.
"What are you talking about? I'v been gone for almost two weeks. I even missed exam week and have already failed senior year." I state, fealing slightly downcast as my mother also starts to laugh.
"Kevin please don't tell me you are on drugs. I swear if you are I promise you I wi-" she starts saying when I cut her off.
"I am not on drugs, and if you don't believe me then look at your phone." I say with confidence.
She whips her phone out of her pocket switching it on.

28 June 2016An amused expression crosses her face as she shows me the screen.
"You must have had one crazy dream during the twenty minutes that you slept in." My mom says as she starts to laugh.
'How could this be happening?' I ask myself.
It was only yesterday that Amy bumped into me and called me after school.
"Wait. How long did I sleep in?" I ask trying to piece everything together.
"Only twenty minutes. Why did you sleep in anyway, you never do that." My mom states as a matter-of-factly.
I don't even bother answering my mom as I quickly run upstairs.
I search my room for the book.
That stupid book.
I then see it in my clothing draw.
'How did it even get in here?' I ask myself.
"So you get comfy accommodation and I get the floor. Nice!" I say to the book as I pick it up.
"I put it there." I hear someone say. I immediately know who it is.
"Katy." I say nonchalantly as I turn around to face her but there is no one there.
"Okay, where are you" I ask slightly agitated.
"I'm not in the mood for games right now." I state turning around to try find her.
Still no one.
'This is getting weird now.' I think to myself.
"In what way?" She says causing me to jump and turn to where the voice came from.
"Um lets see. You keep talking but you are not even visible in my room. Thats not weird at all." I sarcastically retort.
She just laughs as if what I just said was the funniest thing she ever heard.
"What's exactly is so funny?" I snap.
"Oh nothing.....Just the fact that you are The Keeper.....and much more.....but still you cannot see me." She says in between laughs, as if I should understand everything.
"I don't have a clue what you are talking about." I say not even trying to hide my confusion.
"I forget, you are, you. You will find out everything eventually."
After a few moments of silence I ask her what has been on my mind since my encounter with my mom this morning.
"How come only twenty minutes went past here in the two weeks that I was 'there'?" I ask her, curiosity laced in my tone.
"Okay, do you never watch movies? Even they explain this." She says as she fades into the 'real world' where I can now see her.
"We were in a parallel dimension. Time in the forest is nothing compared to earth's time or your galaxy for that matter." She say as if stating the obvious.
"Okay.... By the way where is Layla?" I ask, noticing for the first time that she isn't here.
"She has stuff to deal with." A flash of worry passes her eyes as she says this but is was gone as fast as it came.
"Sure." I drop the subject, unconvinced with her answer.
"Anyway, with all of that said, pack you stuff. We need to get going as soon as possible." She says with slight urgency in her voice.
"Go where?" I ask getting curious at the sudden need to leave.
"Texas." She answers nonchalantly.
"TEXAS?! YOU EXPECT ME TO JUST LEAVE TO TEXAS?! THATS HALF ACROSS THE COUNTRY! ARE YOU MA-" she cuts me off as I am busy shouting my head of at her.
"Do you think I don't know that you twat, but you don't really have a choice." She states, and I can see she is getting irritated.
It's silent for sometime until I have calmed myself down to talk again but my mom comes running through the door.
"Why are you screaming about going to Texas, and who are you talking too?" She asks.
I turn around and look at Katy. She has an amused look on her face.
"Mom this is Katy, but could you please leave we are busy talking." I irritatedly state.
"Um, where is she?" She asks a bit confused.
"My word. Right here." I turn to look at Katy who is giggling herself silly.
My moms face resembled that of pure confusion.
"Wait. You cannot see her?"
