Amy sat down on my bed and motioned me over by patting the spot next to her. I had just thrown up and Amy was curious to why.
"I think I'm pregnant," I said the second I sat down. Realization came upon me. What IF I was pregnant?! I looked at Amy nervously.
"Wait." She paused. "How?"
"Well me and Andy. I mean Andy and I had... sex. I don't think we used a condom. And..." I trailed off.
"Ohmygosh. Do you think we should go get a pregnancy test?" Amy suggested and got up off the bed to pace back and forth in my room.
I thought about it. What was I going to lose? "Yes," I answered.
We silently drove to the closest pharmacy and I stepped in. In was slightly warmer inside then the cold pre-spring weather. The pharmacy was not CVS, actually. It was just a tiny, little place on the corner of Armstrong Street and Andover Avenue. It was quite old. The paint peeled off the wall and the door threatened to fall off it's hinges at any second. It had about five isle, not much, but they made enough money to get along. Barely anyone was here. A lady in a blue blazer, older man with a cane, and skater boy at the counter. After staring at him for a second, I realized that it was Axel.
"Amy," I said, my eyes widened. "We need to leave." I quickly looked back and forth between Amy and Axel.
She looked at Axel. She's met Axel before, at a get together at my house that I didn't even plan. It was planned by Andy (no surprise) and his sidekick, the even more surprising, Axel. "Just buy it by the back counter. Be quick and sneaky."
"But... What about Amanda?" Amanda was a graduated senior at our school. She was in college now, Yale to be exact, but needed the extra money, so she worked here. Amanda had become my other mother. She scolded me when I was doing something bad, laughed, helped, cared, and most of all, she made me feel good about myself.
"Who cares?
I darted to the tampons, condoms, and pregnancy tests isle. A middle school child was in the same isle buying condoms. She shot me a dirty look and I grabbed a random pregnancy test, not daring to look back at her. 'That is GROSS,' I thought. She's like, eleven!
I walked with absolutely no courage to the back counter. A young girl named Amanda was working there today. She worked her on everyday and I came here atleast once every two weeks to pick up milk or tampons. Depending on the answer of the pregnancy test, I wouldn't be needing those anymore. She rang it up and grabbed my arm. "I am very disappointed in you, young lady," she scolded and a sweet southern accent turned into a tone of ashame.
"Im sorry." Was all I could squeeze out of my mouth before turning my back and walking towards Amy. I meekly waved goodbye to her and clutched the plastic bag in my palm.
The eleven year old girl walked over to Axel and handed him the condoms. My first ammediate thought was that he was fucking children. Which almost didn't surprise me, considering he was in a gang. He could've been fucking dogs for all I know.
But then the thought was erased when he patted her head and said what looked like 'Thanks, sis.' I was pretty sure he said sis, anyway. I assumed that she was just getting condoms for her brother. She pointed to me and then to Amanda at the back while saying something. Axel looked up at me, swung his head in my direction as if to say 'hey,' and looked back down at his sister.
Now that I looked at her, the possibility of her being his sister became less and less. She had bleach blonde hair, unlike Axels black-with-midnight-blue-finish-hair, blue eyes, compared to Axel's chocolate brown eyes (must I say more), and her pale white skin. Axel had assumibly really tan skin. But not to tan- he was actually really hot. I stopped. What am I thinking? I have a...boyfriend. Whose also a rapist. Whose also in a gang. Whose was a pretty shitty boyfriend.
