Kyra's comlink buzzed before she set foot on her X-Wing.
"Banai!" Kyra responded.
"Hey! Where are you? We're about to hatch a plan to get Noah and Han out of the carbonite." Kris asked.
At last! Kyra thought in relief and joy.
"That's very good news! I'm just leaving Mustafar now, Kris. I'll be on Tatooine very soon." Kyra reported.
"You're on Mustafar?! Why's that?" Kris asked.
"Kyra just needed to find answers about her family. She'll tell you later, Kris." Lizzie said.
"All right, darling. How's the little one?" Winter asked.
"Still kicking away," Kyra said with love.
During the course of nine months, Kyra had taken it upon herself to tone her stomach and her upper body and lower body. To many, it didn't look like she was pregnant, but she had that glow. She was still slender but toned.
"I'll be over soon." Kyra said as she strapped herself in with Lizzie.
"Okay, see you in a bit!" Kris cheerily said.
"Banai out," Kyra reported and then took off, never looking back at the hellish planet that had been her father's downfall and her family's destruction. She made the jump into hyperspace.
"Kyra's been through a lot the past nine months, hasn't she?" Kris murmured after she ended her com call to her sister in law.
"Yeah, and now that we've tracked down where Noah and Han are at, I think she and Leia will feel much better once they're out of the carbonite." Winter said.
"Let's hope that Luke's plan works. I think he sent the-who are you?" Lando said and then saw a hooded person in the doorway with Lizzie.
"Not to worry, Lando. It's me," the familiar feminine voice of Kyra said and dropped her hood with a smile.
Kris' jaw dropped as she took in Kyra's new look. Her long curly hair was now a mullet, just to her shoulders. And oh, she was radiant and glowing with a confidence that she never thought she had before.
"Whoa! Kyra, you look...different, but I like it!" Kris squeaked with admiration.
"I was in need of a change. I figured that if I'm going to be a new mom, I'd have to at least look it. I'd have to admit, though. I'll miss the ornate buns, braids, twists, plaits and stuff like that, but I know I can always grow it back." Kyra explained while giggling.
"I like that look. It suits you!" Winter complimented. Lando nodded in agreement.
"You think Noah will like it?" Kyra asked.
"I'm sure he will." Leia came in and took in Kyra's new appearance with a raised brow but a smile.
"Like it? He'll love it!" Lizzie quipped.
"What's with the new cloak?" Kris asked.
"It was my father's cloak. I totally need to wash this out. I found it on Mustafar, and this cloak was left untouched for 23 years. It was filled with dust and ash when I found it." Kyra answered as she took it off and brought it to the nearest laundry washer.
"Oh my! It's been on Mustafar practically your entire life?" Winter gasped. Nine months ago, Kyra had opened up to him and told him that Vader was her father, and he had promised to himself to keep that secret.
"Yep." Kyra answered.
Soon, they were met with a hologram message from Luke. Luke had trimmed his mop of sandy blond hair and now sported the look of a Jedi Knight.
