as Josh and I walked up to the ice cream shop we made small take until it was our turn to order. when the cashier called for the next person to come and place their order in, we walked up. "Hi! welcome to Jacksons Ice Cream Shop." the woman behind the counter said. her name tag read Melanie. Me and Josh put in our orders and were told that they would call our number when it was ready, so we took out seat to waited. "number 17" we heard, what sounded like Melanie say. "thank you" Josh said. "no need for thank you. just doing my job" she said with a wink. when Josh saw what she did, his eyes got big and he looked at me. I raised my eyebrows and tried not to laugh. "um yeah okay. still, thanks" he said and tried to turn away until Melanie spoke again. "are you maybe..."she stopped hoping he's turn around. we both did. "are you by any chance...seeing anyone?" she asked Josh. he chuckled a little but and put his arm around my back. "sorry, but I am actually." he said with a smile.  when she saw his actions, he whole face turned red. "oh wow. you're not even straight okay. I feel smart. two guys walk in together as attractive as you both are and of course, you're not even straight. sorry for asking." she said. "it's okay." Josh said laughing.

"really? you don't want to like, punch me in the face for hitting on your boyfriend?" she asked looking at me. "nah, I'm not a violent person. and besides, you didn't know, and your hair if sick as frick" I said with a slight smile. "okay okay. thanks." she said smiling back. "here, here's my number, you seem cool. I think we could become great friends" I said with a warm smile. "I'll have to text you sometime soon."  she said as she she smiled back then me and Josh walked out. "so Tyler" Josh said. "so Josh" I said laughing. "do you want to walk over to the park? sit down on a bench and watch the sunset? maybe?" he said with a smirk. "sounds perfect" I said. we walked to the park eating our ice cream. the walked what somewhat long, so we were almost done with the ice cream by the time we got there. instead of sitting on a bench, we decided to sit on the swings because they're more fun to sit on and we ha a better view of the sunset. we stayed and watched the sunset for about an hour then we decided to walked back home before it got to dark. as we walked back Josh did this "will you hold this for a second" so he could grab my hand. I have go be honest, it make me blush. we walked for a few more minutes until something happened that made my whole world fall apart. right in front of my eyes.

SCREEEEEEECCCCHHH. that's all I heard as a car whipped around the corner, driving uncontrollably fast. and that's the last thing I remember.

when I woke up I was laying on my back and there was a man leaning over me. "welcome back." the man said. "back?" I question. "yep." he said. "can you tell me your full name and age?" he continued as he shined a light in my eyes. "um Tyler Joseph and 15." I said. always... you were out for a minute. well, not a minute. probably a good five minutes. but I'm Christian." he said. "what happened?" i asked. "well what's the last thing you remember?" he asked back. "I- I heard a car screech and I saw it whip around the corner then it went black." I said. "you were hit by that car. it was a drunk diver that hit you." Christian said. "where's Josh??" I said trying to get up. "whoa whoa. Tyler, you're going to have to lay down. you're friend is right in front of us." he said. "he's not my friend." I said. "well, whatever he is, he's in front of us. we're headed to the hospital. you may be suffering from a concussion." he said. "is Josh okay?" I asked frantically. "you're about to see. we're here." Christian opened the doors to the ambulance and told the doctors about my condition Christian wished me good luck and the doctors rushed me inside.

"where's Josh?" I asked once again. "huh, your friend got here a few minutes ago. we'll let you see him as soon as possible but for right now we're going to need you to calm down and take a few deep breaths. we're going to take real good care of you both. can you tell me where to your cellphone is so I can contact your parents?" the doctor asked. "it's in my right pocket." they stopped pushing me and she walked over and got my phone out and called my mom and dad.

"Hello Tyler, I'm Dr. Adams, I called your mom and she said that she'd call your dad at work. she also said that she will be coming after your brothers come home from basketball practice. while we wait for here, why don't we get you upstairs for a head scan. we want to see if you have a concussion or not. then after that, we'll try to get you in to see your friend. does that sound like a plan?" Dr. Adams said. when they got me to the room where they'd be scaring me, they told me what was going to happen and how old it would take. the scan only took about ten minutes then they admitted me into a room. they doctors said I had a concussion with a broken leg. I didn't feel the broken bone, but the doctor said it was because I was in a lot of shock.  and they said they wanted to keep me over night for observation.

after about an hour, another doctor came into my room. "Hi, I'm Dr. Simon. and you must be Tyler?" he said. I nodded. "I heard from Dr. Adams that you were wanting to see your friend? is that right?" he asked. "um yeah. when can I see him?" I asked. "well, I have to ask your doctor first, but I was wondering if you would like to go over and see him now. I'm his doctor and someone who was with you earlier told me that you two came in together." Dr. Simon said. I became happy at what I was being told. "yeah I would love to see him. how is he?" I asked. "well, Josh is stable right now. and from what we can tell it's nothing to major. just a broken bone or two. but we're keeping here over night and maybe tomorrow as well just in case anything changes. we're trying to take extra precautions. we take car accidents very seriously and you both being teenager just makes us take even more precaution. you know, for your safety." Dr. Simon said. "yeah I understand the whole extra precaution thing." I said. "okay, now that I'm done boring got half to death, let me go ask your doctor if I can bring you over to him." The doctor said.

I nodded my head, then Dr. Simon walked out the door. a few minutes later, he walked back in. "alright, Tyler, Dr. Jones said it would be alright if I brought you over." he said. Dr. Simon asked a nurse for a wheelchair and they brought one in and he wheeled me down. it didn't take very long to get to Josh's room because it was just a little further down the hall from mine. when we got there my heart sunk.
