(Cody)

Everything happened so fast. There were screams echoing throughout the room, and men yelling at other men to help pry Jace off Leo.

There was one thing for sure though.

Leo is dead.

Jace tore him apart. Limb from limb.

I don't think I can ever unsee that. He terrified me.

I am now currently sitting in the living room, staring at my folded hands. Luke and Jaden were next to me, trying to get me to talk, or do something, but I was numb. Images of Jaces pounce, and Leo's blood.

"Jace, you can't go see her!" Steven spoke from another room in the house.

"Dad! She's my fucking mate! I need to go see her!"

"Didn't you see how traumatized you made her feel?! You scarred the poor girl!"

"Why do you think I need to see her?!"

They argued for another twenty minutes. But the more they argued, the bigger my growing headache became. "I can't take this anymore." I whisper, getting up from the couch, and walking to the front door.

"Cody, where are you going?" Luke asked me, walking behind me with Jaden.

"Home."

"It's getting dark out, Code. Just let me drive you home." Jaden offered.

I got to the front door, my hand on the brass handle. "I'd rather walk, thanks though."

"Cody, please." Luke begged. He's always hated me walking around town after dark. He may be my little brother, but I swear, sometimes he acts older than me.

"Luke, I need time to get over this. Time to think. How would you feel if you had to watch your boyfriend tear a guy apart as blood splattered the room?!" I spat, the mental images returing, making me flinch along with the two wolves in front of me.

My brother saud nothing. He would feel the same as me.

"Fuck you, dad!" I heard Jace yell, then a door slammed and thundering footsteps came closer to the door.

"I need to get out of here." I say, twisting my hand to open the door.

"Cody! Baby, where are you going?" Jace's voice asked from behind me.

Before I could even comprehend what I was doing, I was running out that door as fast as I could.

"Cody!" Jace yelled after me.

"Jace, just let her go." Jaden spoke.

"She could get hurt!"

"Give her time man."

"I just got her back!"

"She nee-"

That was all I heard before I ran out of hearing range. By the time I hit the edge of the driveway, I was out of breathe, and my calves burned. I looked both directions of the road, and headed east.

My whole walk, my mind was just throwing pictures of Jace and Leo.

How am I ever going to face Jace now? I feel like if I ever get him that angry, that he'll do the same to me. How can I live a life with him, when I'm always in fear of getting him upset?

A black mini cooper rolled up next to me, and the drivers side window rolled down, revealing the face of my best friend.

"Hey, stranger. Need a ride?" He smiled.
