(Jace)

I couldn't help the smile that came to my face as soon as the words left my beautiful mates mouth. "You will?"

She nodded slowly with a small smile on her face. "I realise now that I really do have nothing here once Luke is gone. No family. No friends. Brent's planning to kill everyone, and I know once that happens I won't talk to him ever again. I know they most of your pack hates me, but I know they're good people."

My smile faultered a little bit. Part of me died knowing if we left without her, she wouldn't miss me. What would I ever do without her? I know I could never love anyone as much as her. I know I would compare every girl to Cody. She's everything to me.

"So when are you going to tell your pack you need to leave?" Cody asked me.

"When I leave." I answer, looking out the window.

"When are you leaving?"

"I don't know."

I could actually feel my heart starting to crack at her question. Why does she want me to leave so quickly? "Code, I'm really sorry if I frightened you yesterday. But I would hope you can understand my actions. As a male wolf, we have the need to protect our mate from danger of any kind. Even a paper cut. When Leo had that knife to your throat, my wolf and I were scared to death. We didn't want to lose you. We didn't want to see your dead, cold body on the floor, skin turning white-" I couldn't say anymore. It was hurting my insides too much picturing it. "We can't function when are mates pass, or reject us. But I had to do everything I could to save your life. That's why I killed Leo. I wish you didn't have to see it, but I'm sorry you did. All I'm asking is for you to forgive me." I whispered the last sentance.

Looking into to her beautiful electric blue eyes, I could see understanding. Fright was still there a little bit, but I ignored it. I think she knows I would never ever hurt her.

"Jace, you terrified me yesterday. I kept thinking about how if I ever got you that mad, you'd do the same to me." I couldn't help but feel terrible. I was the worst mate ever. I made the love of my life afraid of me. "I had Alyx over last night, as you know. He sees the way you look at me, and act when Jax and Blaze kept hitting on me. He saw it all, and he says that you love me with every single fiber in your being, and that means a lot ot me."

She grabbed one of my hands in bth of hers, and looked into my eyes. "I love you Jace Evans."

My heart stopped.

She leaned in and kissed my lips lightly. Electric shocks spread through my body, and I couldn't help what happened next. I grabbed her face gently between my hands, and laid her back on the couch so I was on top of her. I kept one hand supporting most of my weight, while the other was on her waist. Our lips moved in perfect sync. Her arms wrapped around my neck, and pulled my closer. My hips were grinding against her. My wolf was screaming at me to take her to the bedroom and make love to her until she won't ever walk the same again, but I knew I couldn't do that.

I pulled away and rested my forhead against her, and just stared into her eyes with a smile on my face. I heard her sigh with content, then stared into my eyes. I felt like I could see into her soul. It was the best feeling in the world.

This girl is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I'm glad I ran into on that first day of school. I probably wouldn't have ever noticed her if I didn't. She was a loner. A nobody. And I love her with everything I have. I wouldn't have Cody any other way than the way she is now.

"Want to meet my family?" I ask her.

"Your pack hates me."

"They don't know you like I do. Have you given up hunting for werewolves?"
