"No, they have weapons that are going to demolish that idea, you would lose more pack members than save them." I told Jaden.

He sighs, putting the pencil he was holding in his mouth, his eyebrows scrunched together, thinking deeply about a new plan to defeat the hunters. It's not going to be an easy task, they're highly advanced in the weapons department, and they know every angle the wolf packs would think of.

Jaden throws the pencil on the desk and leans back in his chair, sighing loudly in frustration. "I don't know what to do then. This is impossible."

I smirk. "Not entirely."

His eyes go to me and they narrow. "What do you mean?"

I get up from the couch in the corner of Jaden's office and start to pace around. "You see, Jaden. You can't think like a werewolf, they're going to know every idea that you could form in your head in great detail, it's the way the hunters are. But, if you start to think of every angle that hunters could use, and turn it around on them, that could work."

The dark haired alpha gives me a look of confusion.

I roll my eyes and lean on his desk. "You make it look like you're going to do one thing, but you're going to turn it around on them. You make it seem like the pack is going towards the woods, have half your army at the house waiting for the hunters, as an example."

His eyes brighten. "Oh! I see what you're saying now! Okay, how about this?" He starts writing things on the notebook in front of them, drawing a few things here and there, then turns it around to show me.

I give Jaden a smile. "This will work perfectly. Get the warriors ready."

Jaden nods and stands up from the desk, calling for the warriors to get to the pack yard as soon as possible.

I bite my lip and stay leaned on Jaden's desk for a little while longer just thinking. Thinking about the fight with the hunters, how I hope that no one dies. I was wrong my entire life about these creatures, these people. My dad didn't know anything about werewolves besides that they were bad and needed to be taken care of, so as soon as Luke and I got older, he taught us the same. Little did he know, that Luke would turn out to actually be a werewolf, and his little girl would be mated to a Beta.

Brent fills my thoughts as well, thinking of my best friend killing all of these people just makes my blood boil. The pack may hate me, but I want to prove to them I'm not going to just stand by and watch them get slaughtered, nor will I join the enemy. I'm Jace's mate, I would never do that to him, no matter how long I've been part of the hunters. He's my forever now, and I'm not going to jeopardize that. Brent may be my best friend, but he is a very bad person. Being with the pack has taught me that; just seeing them as everyday people instead of monsters, they never kill just for the fun of it, they only kill with reason, to protect the pack. They would do anything for the pack, and I admire that greatly.

Arms wrapping themselves around my waist cut my thoughts from going any further, the tingles erupting in my body told me who it was and I instantly melted in his hold and his scent.

"What are you doing in here all alone?" Jace's deep voice asked, his nose in my hair, breathing me in.

I look up at him, "I was discussing ideas with Jaden, trying to outsmart the hunters."

"So that's what he was yelling about with the warriors?"

I smile and nod, wrapping my arms around his waist in a hug. We stand there for a few minutes, just basking in each other's company. Jace's arms are my favorite place to be in the world as of lately.
