Chapter seventeen

* Rui En POV *
That evening, Elvin and I decided to head out for dinner at a nearby restaurant. After we ordered our food, the both of us just sat there and chatted for a bit. "I need to use the restroom." I said. Elvin nodded. I have to admit it has been quite some time since the last time Elvin and I went overseas for leisure. We were spending like 2 weeks there so it was a pretty good chance for us to unwind. After dinner, we headed back and just spent the rest of our time for the day in our hotel room before we turned in for the night. For the next couple of days, the both of us just went to revisit those places we have visited before several years ago and it really brings back the memories. After like three to four days of revisiting places, we decided to stay in the hotel for a day and just laze around since we both agreed it was kind of tiring to be walking about in places. And since we were in Japan, we coincidently thought of watching a bit of The Dream Catchers cos, why not? We did not have any plans for that day either. "You know," I said, "I'm still very curious on why you actually like me, am I really that attractive to you?" "What? Of course. Especially your eyes, and I love your personality too." He explains. "Really." I laughed. "Duh." He snacks me. "Wow okay." I continued laughing. After we were back in Singapore, we still had slightly more than 2 weeks of break left. "What do we do with this 2 weeks of break left, babe." I asked, sitting down on the couch as he signalled for me to sit on his lap. My goodness. I gave him a "Can you not." look. "Come on, just sit will you. You're not heavy at all." He starts to laugh. I roll my eyes and sat on his lap reluctantly. "Why are you so light?" He teases me. "What's so bad about being light? At least its better than me being heavy as heck like when I was acting as an auntie and having trouble losing all those weight, right...?" I said. "I was only asking. You didn't have to give me a whole 'speech' to explain. "Yeah yeah yeah." I laughed a little but stopped when I suddenly felt a sudden wave of pain in my lower abdominal area.

* Elvin's POV *
After I teased her, she laughed a bit and stop suddenly while I saw her cringing in pain as she was grabbing onto her lower abdominal area slightly and I, of course, was worried. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" I ask her. "Yeah." She nods. Although she said she was, she started looking slightly pale since she experienced the pain for some time. "Do you want me to take you to see a doctor?" I placed my arm on her shoulder. She shook her head. If she disagrees to what I say about taking her to see a doctor, I'd usually just let her be until anything worsens. So I just told her to rest for a bit and see what happens. "Alright then, take a nap first and maybe you'll sleep it off?" I tucked her in and sat down on the spot next to her on our bed. Then I thought that either my wish was coming true or she was actually just sick and not expecting. She woke up like an hour later and was feeling fine again. I heaved a sigh of relief. But around dinnertime, instead of having those cramps again, she threw up. "Are you really okay?" I asked her. "I don't know." She replies, "First, cramps. Now? I'm puking. You know, I don't think this is my gastric problem coming back. Because, the stomachaches aren't like that, they are usually much worse." "Oh." I said back, "Could you be expecting?" "Wh...what?" She stammered, "Don't tell me this was the wish you made in Japan?" "Uhm, yes...?" I admitted sheepishly. "Great. Just great." She says, slopping back down onto the bed, "I'm not prepared for this, hon." "Sorry..?" I apologised, "I think we should get a doctor to confirm if you really are expecting tomorrow." She nodded her head in agreement.

* Rui En POV *
The first thing I did after I washed up in the morning was to do a pregnancy test at home before Elvin brought me to see a doctor. "Elvin." I said as I walked over to him who was checking his notifications on his phone. "Yeah?" He asked, half-hugging me. "Its positive." I continued, showing him the plus sign on the test kit. "Oh my gosh." His jaw literally dropped and he hugged me very tightly, "Yes, babe! My wish has been granted!" Elvin squeals. "I. Can't. Breathe. Let. Me. Go." I gasped. He loosened his arms, "Oops, sorry." As I was standing up to throw the kit away, he asks, "Wait, could you let me take a photo of the results first before you dispose it?" "What for?" I asked. But I still let him take the photo anyway. "Why not." Was his reply. "Don't tell me you're going to post that. I don't want the public to know, especially so when you have like 223k followers." I looked at him. "Its just for my...our own memory sake. Don't be so 'scared'." He laughs. I went to sit back down beside him after I threw the thing away. "Anyways, after breakfast, we are going to the doctor's." He informed me. "Okay." I replied.

* Rui En POV *
"Yes, she is expecting. About 6 to 7 weeks. Congrats." The doctor told me and Elvin. From that moment the doctor told us the results all the way till we were home, he was all smiles, grinning from ear to ear. I was happy, too. But I wasn't showing it like he is, because morning sickness and the other symptoms were taking away my energy and I felt so lethargic. "Aren't you happy?" He asked. "Well of course I am, but I am feeling very lethargic due to all those symptoms." I told him. "Awh, you poor thing." He pouts his lips at me as we pulled up in our garage.

* Elvin POV *
"Babe, could you get me something to eat?" She asked. "Sure. You go take a nap then, you look wan." He kisses me on my temple. I nodded with a smile. He then tucked me in and went downstairs cook me something to eat. That's it. Several months later, over lives are going to change, forever.
