CHAPTER 2: Audrey.
Summer 2013
It was a week since school had ended and I was lazing around. Danni and Jess often came over but they were going to spend their vacations in California and New York and I was just going to sit here watch gossip girl re-runs. The only time I was not bored was when Jake and Beth were home. Beth worked as an assistant at an estate agency and Jake worked at a law firm. So they usually came home by eight at night. Living with Lisa all day alone worn me out. She would run around the house clicking pictures and I had to run behind her because she was extremely clumsy.
Beth had told me that her friend and her son were coming to visit us for summer. I just hoped that he wasn't a hot dude because then living in my own house would be difficult for me if the guy was a Chase Crawford look-alike. But of course, God didn't listen to me, as always. The day they were to come, Beth made me wear a dress against my and Jake's will. He and I both didn't like how Beth was trying to set me up with someone I didn't even know. He could've looked like a cardboard for all I knew. But boy, how wrong I was.
Let me explain this. He was freaking hot. I was not used to being around someone like him. And he was going to live in my room. I had to room with Lisa because Luna, his mother had taken the guest room. So he was left with my room. Again Beth, Jake and I had an argument over this. Luna could've taken my room but Beth was like Nooo.
Eric. I liked him the moment my eyes fell on him. His brown hair was spiked up and his eyes were the same color as his hair. His beautifully sculpted body made it hard not to look at him. He was very friendly and Beth made it very obvious that she wanted us to be together.
He flirted with me all summer with that smile on his handsome face. He would call me in 'his' room and we talked all night. Our only disturbance was Jake, who came after every hour to check whether we had closed the room door or not. But not once had Eric tried anything on me. I mean yes, he made me blush by his compliments and he often slung his arm around my waist and hugged me. But was that normal? I was experiencing this all for the first time so I didn't know how to behave.
But I remember that one day before he went back to Michigan. We were on the beach. We had decided to take a long walk along the shore while our families went into the water. The sun glowed above our heads but it wasn't hot. The breeze blowing messed up my hair but I didn't care. He had his hand around my shoulder and we were so close. The sensation of sand tickling under my bare feet, the wind in my hair and his body beside mine made me dizzy. During our walk I thought of all the times I had seen him looking at me, the time when we were alone in my... 'his' room, the time when he complimented me when I thought I looked ugly. I had never felt this way. He was the first guy I had experienced all this with. I really liked him. This intense thinking caused me to do something I never thought I'd do in a million years.
I stopped walking resulting in his hand falling off my shoulder. He stopped too, confused. He asked me what was wrong. I just stared at him. At his eyes, his hair that fell across his forehead and then... his lips. And before I knew it I had my lips on his. We were both shocked by my sudden act of boldness. But there was no turning back. I knew he liked me too. Feeling more confident than before, I started moving my lips against his and almost fainted when he kissed me back.
Not a second later we heard Jake's voice so Eric broke off our kiss. I couldn't stop smiling. Jake waved as he saw us and increased his pace. He was still far from us. I waved back feeling giddy and happy.
