Chapter 50

3 weeks later~

My birthday is coming up, and i'm worried. Lately Chase has been talking about some big surprise. I'm really not the biggest fan of surprises, but he seems so excited about it and i can't tell him to just stop.

I watched him as he packed his suitcase. " Hand me that shirt? " He pointed at a black long sleeve hanging from the door knob.

He's going with his dad on a business trip to Boston. He's only going for 3 days, the day he comes back is the day before my birthday.

" I'll miss you. " He said kissing me on the cheek.

" I know. " I giggled.

" You won't miss me? "

" Are you kidding? Of course i will! "

I kissed him gently, " You sure you don't want me to drive you to the airport? "

" It's fine, i got it. "

" Okay, well call me when you get there! "

" I will. " He said, kissing me one last time before walking out to his car.

I waved as he drove away down the street.

Today, Holly and I were going out to the movies and doing some shopping. She should be coming over any minute. I dressed Isabella, and got my own coat on and waited for her on the couch.

I sang Old McDonald to her on the couch. She giggled every time she heard me oink like a pig.

There was a knock on the door and i picked Isabella up into my arms, and greeted Holly at the door.

Lately, we've became really close. We hangout every time we get the chance to and she babysat Isabella once while Chase and I went for supper at his parents house.

" Hey! You ready? " I asked.

" Yeah! " She answered.

We dropped Isabella off with Pattie and made our way over to the mall.

" I really want to buy some new dresses for work. " I admitted, browsing through a rack of navy dresses.

"Buy a navy one, it looks good on you."

"Thanks," I smiled.

At the end of the day, I ended up buying 3 new dresses and a couple new tops. Holly bought some pants and a pair of shoes.

"What movie do you wanna see?" She asked.

" I don't care, something scary? " I suggested.

" Up to you! " She answered.

We end up deciding on a stupid movie about some girl that gets possessed. Neither of us paid much attention to the movie.

" I'm gonna run out to the bathroom, alright? " I announced.

She nodded and i left the theatre immediately, annoyed with the stupid movie.

" Jess? "

I turned around, Ms. McCormack was standing next to the a small green plant.

" Hello! " I smiled, and walked over close to her.

" What brings you here today? " She asked.

" I'm here with my friend Holly! "

" Ah, i see. What's Chase up to today? "

I was caught off guard by what she said, " Um, Boston. " I answered.

" Boston? " She asked surprised.

" Yeah, he's there on a business trip with Mr McCormack? Isn't he? "

" No, honey. Mr McCormack is getting us some popcorn, he's right over there." She pointed.

I turned around and sure enough he was standing in line waiting to get popcorn.

This is really awkward.

" Oh, i think i'm gonna go back with my friend now, but i'll catch up with you later! " I tried to smile to hide the pain and disappointment i was feeling.

" Alright honey, see you soon. " She smiled, but i could tell she was disappointed as well.

I walked back into the theatre and sat down next to Holly, sunk down in my seat and rested my head in my hands.

Is Chase cheating on me?
