Most humans have the plague,
and it lies embedded in our hands.
Be warned, for if you're infected,
silent storms shall cross your land.
Though you ignore its symptoms,
the virus still receives notice.
It gave us a louder voice
yet we speak with ignorance.
The plague begs us for attention,
and to it, that is all we pay.
Violent coughs and joint swellings
had you isolated and put away.
Sometimes you'll go out to get some medicine,
and the plague retreats for a while.
Gaining power over time
as you wait idle and docile.
The more time we refuse medication,
the more nature we choose to destroy.
This sickness is a power,
a power we've made into a toy.
Like a drug, it's an addiction,
worse than a sneeze or cough.
When is it that we will all realize
that we can turn this sickness....
